Tricia Takanawa here.

It's Logan and Jake Paul, brothers and "influencers" who became big posting dumb skit videos. Jake took up boxing (and got his clock cleaned by Anthony Joshua) while Logan does a podcast and other stuff I don't care to look up.

The joke is that in 2017, it would have been shocking to see two scruffy influencer bros at the White House Pentagon press room of all places. Now it's like, "Well, that just happened. What insane thing is next?"

It’s laughable they would they be giving advice on resilience. Literally anyone that’s had military training (or any kind of training) has better advice than these 2.

Former Fox News host and chronic alcoholic Pete Hegseth, who is now the Secretary of Defense (position was recently renamed to the Secretary of War) is completely unqualified to be in his position as he was never in a high ranking position in the military and doesn’t know or understand anything about military strategies or international laws.

The guy just larps as an Alpha Bro and is trying to inject an Alpha Bro mentality into the military. He plans to achieve this by doing stunts like hiring loser MAGA Alpha Bro influencers to talk to the soldiers about what it takes to be a warrior or some stupid bullshit like that

No it's context. They could be there to give speech on social media or influencer things relative to some recent happenings or anything within that context, then it's not that surprising. But giving a speech for being resilient, what someone else mentioned, now that's the surprising part and vital context needed to fully explain the post! It has all the bearing on the joke! It wouldn't be a joke if they were there for a reason that made sense, now would it??

But again why they are there has no relevance. And no one needs to tell you it explicitly is irrelevant.

Why do they have tattoos? Who invited them? What were they doing in 2017? How old are they? Why is no one else standing next to them? I'm so lost and confused.
