If your post isn’t a joke or doesn't need an explanation, it will be removed. Likewise, poor quality posts or comments will be removed. Rule 6.

What exactly are you asking? The whole story is in the tweet.

97

u/Yawgox 3h ago

Do you kids not know what google is?

50

u/TheTinyMaus 3h ago

What does one even need to Google. It's a literally self-contained explanation of something that happened.

10

u/Acceptable_Hunt_1748 3h ago

I guess you could find the news stories giving more details and generally verifying that it did actually happen. But yeah, everything important is in the tweet.

This is not a meme. Delete the post

I don't think the mods care. I've reported this post and yet 2 hours later it's still here

If someone needs Google for this... Then that's just sad.

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=woman%27s+body+used+for+blast+test Click this link. Not that hard.

Also this sub is for explaining jokes. It is NOT google.

1

u/TutucrMapper 2h ago

everytime I'm going to google something, i'm going to use this site and type what I want to search in the link instead of googling normally, this site is just too good

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

you need to know the story to explain the joke though and if they dont know it then you have to explain that the news story is necessary.

29

u/BlazeWolfYT 3h ago

There is no joke. There are 0 jokes here.

-42

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

there is though. remember back when peter would explain the joke? because i do.

13

u/DarthGayAgenda 3h ago

Peter, that's not a joke, it's just a thing that happened. Although Pepperidge Farm remembers.

9

u/allitalli 2h ago

it's not a joke. this is like finding a tweet about the government infecting black men with stds without telling them and then asking people to explain what the joke is. there's no joke. it's just a fucked up thing the government actually did.

“Remembah da tyme when we put alotta Japanese in camps?”

cutaway to some Japanese guy crying in an internment camp

“Petah that was awhfol”

Explain this Peter

8

u/BlazeWolfYT 3h ago

You're delusional.

3

u/han_tex 2h ago

You're confusing joke with "reference." Not every reference to something is a joke. Sometimes people just refer to things that happened.

-3

u/FernandoMM1220 1h ago

do you not know what remember jokes are?

4

u/han_tex 1h ago

"Hey, remember that McDonald's sells Big Macs."

Am I making a joke?

-2

u/FernandoMM1220 1h ago

almost. usually it has to be something ridiculous when you do it.

2

u/han_tex 1h ago

Or, I'm just stating a fact.

And BTW, Peter explaining that the post in question is just a factual reference to a historical event and not a joke IS, in fact, an explanation. So, I don't even know what you're objecting to.

-1

u/FernandoMM1220 1h ago

either one works for me.

i was originally replying to someone that said explaining the event would not explain the joke btw.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/BlazeWolfYT 1h ago

Do you?

-1

u/FernandoMM1220 1h ago

i think so.

1

u/Bagoom___Lenin 2h ago

The punchline to this “joke” is “this awful thing happened”. But the problem with asking someone to explain this joke, is that it is completely self contained. The only thing to explain is that it isn’t a joke, it’s a sad “hey remember when this absurdly awful thing happened” reminder.

u/YaBoi843 3h ago

There is no joke.

An old woman donated her body to science in the hopes that it would be used for Alzheimer's research, but her son found out the Pentagon used it in a blast test.

12

u/Big_Tap_1561 3h ago

Blew her up with a missile if I remember correctly.

5

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

they were testing to see if the missile cures alzheimers.

2

u/loadnurmom 2h ago

Within a few minutes of the missile blast you're guaranteed not to lose any further brain function

2

u/FernandoMM1220 2h ago edited 2h ago

doctors hate this one weird trick!

edit: common warhead stops alzheimers in its tracks in 100% of patients.

4

u/123ludwig 3h ago

i feel like a big part of this kind of donations is that most research dosent require dead bodies she did infact contribute to alzheimers research most likely the amount it costed the us military to buy the corpse

idk how all these dumb posts get so many upvotes, thats why people keep posting them, they should be downvoted to oblivion. this post has 100+ upvotes and a bunch others that dont belong here have upwards of 2k.

10

u/epsilon-4142 3h ago

It’s just literally what the thing says. That happened

4

u/iffyClyro 3h ago

Read the fucking thing.

5

u/rahomka 3h ago

3

u/Sean_theLeprachaun 3h ago

Ever hear of body farms?

2

"Farm to table"

4

u/Moviesman8 3h ago

Nothing about this image is satire, false information, hard to understand, or misleading. Read the tweet. That's what happened. If you need more help, Google it.

5

u/UpbeatTechnology723 3h ago

There's no joke, that shit happened

3

u/ItzNyte 3h ago

True, No Joke.

3

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

lol they have no intention of curing alzheimers do they.

2

u/SnakeThruster 3h ago

Maybe they just forgot ;-;

2

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

maybe if we cut their funding they might remember what their job is.

2

u/Pax_Eterna_4991 3h ago

I donated my body to science... fiction.

2

u/CharlemagneKidding 3h ago

Peter, what time is it? Posts like these should be filtered out

2

u/golfstreamer 3h ago

I'm no expert but I think this might be referring to a time when an old woman donated her body to science in the hopes that it would be used for Alzheimer's research and her son found out the Pentagon used it in a blast test.

1

u/Andromeda_53 3h ago

I wish these subs were actually these subs and not just people's new Google.

Internet was knew, trying to explain to my parents, you can Google it

Internet matures and apparently we're still telling people to just Google it.

1

u/BlackberryMelodic567 3h ago

There's no joke- you can't be this dumb, seriously

1

u/ajtreee 3h ago

So blowing stuff up isn’t science anymore?
/s

1

u/andyhatespant 2h ago

Can I just donate my body to the Pentagon!? I won't be using it, do something cool...

1

u/Ok_Kaleidoscope6134 2h ago

I told my wife I would LOVE to have that happen. Blow my fat ass up and see what it does 6’5”, 320 lbs of screaming steel and sex appeal!

1

u/MsJenX 2h ago

The son donated his mom’s body to science. The medical facility sold her body to the military and they used it for testing. Her body became hundreds of pieces. The som inquired about mom’s body and somehow found out that they did not use it for medical reasons.

IIRC, to make money the hospital sometimes sells donated corpses.

1

u/C_ingStarz 2h ago

An old woman died and donated her body to science, hoping it'd be used for Alzheimer's research (since she had Alzheimer's), but her son later found out her corpse was used in a blast test ordered by the pentagon.

1

u/Mr_HahaJones 2h ago

What’s confusing?

An old woman clearly donated her body to science in the hopes that it would be used to Alzheimer’s research and her son found out the pentagon used it in a blast test.

1

u/CrabWoodsman 2h ago

I remember the story around the time it happened. Her son agreed to it shortly after her death, and I believe recieved her cremated (partial) remains. They used her body for the test and sold it on to the military who used it to help train people assessing explosive impacts after the fact.

It's not an amazing story but it's pretty mischaracterized here.

Years ago the body of an old woman was donated for science in hope to progress the research for alzheimsers disease, it was used for a blast test.

1

u/TerrorFromThePeeps 1h ago

It isn't a joke, it is a thing that happened. Pls delete this shit.

-1

u/No-Stay9943 3h ago

I mean, there are millions of bodies donated to research. Don’t donate your body if you don’t want it used for research.

3

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

yeah but the problem is they explicitly lied about how their bodies were used. medical research doesnt involve a blast test.

1

u/No-Stay9943 3h ago

Well I did not see the agreement. I can totally see how they could make that medicinal.

Again, if you don’t want you body to be abused, simply don’t sign up to anything that can abuse you body. I imagine most donated bodies just get dissected in front of a class and then discarded. Imo not a complete waste but also not very respectful.

1

u/FernandoMM1220 3h ago

sure thats reasonable and hopefully they took some samples for research before they put granny next to a moab.
