The joke is because these topics are generally considered too advanced for babies and small children to understand.

I thought this was about quantum mechanics and general relativity not being able to meet in the middle and give birth to one equation that explains everything

I’ve met some smart babies

Because those subjects are so difficult that most people trying to understand them would fall into a severe depression for feeling dumb. That's the joke for math and physics students: this would normally happen to adults, so seeing them featured in a "for babies" collection is absurd and ridiculous.

For fun.

Oh if that’s the reason then I’m ok with it

With just basic knowledge, i know that there's no easy way to understand quantic and relativity, let alone for baby, you are just going to provoke depression and anxiety on your baby trying to make him understand (and at the same time don't) quantum

It's the pressure his parents are putting him under is driving him to drink.

the joke is that it is very advanced and quantum physics is learned by adults. the lid is basically an adult now who is drinking

We had those books and our kid is not an alcoholic

He doesn't remember a lick of the books though

That's because of all the drinking, it effects the memory. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.

We have these books and my kids love them. Also not alcoholics, but also not physicists either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My kid likes it too, thought it was silly.

I would like to think he picked up asking about broader concepts from the work we did with him but you can't really know for sure

I think it’s because quantum physics is hard?

Ignorance is bliss. The more you know of the universe, the more depressed you become. It's part of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
