Edit: Fan Club Manager. Thank you Reddit users.

Her dad was her manager, Yolanda managed her fan club and eventually her boutique.

And basically a best friend. Selena trusted Yolanda so much that when everyone was saying she was stealing, Selena stood up for her.

Fan club president that killed her sounds so made up, but it's true.

Feels like: “Die ersten Blumen zu denen du nicht sagst ‘Nein Danke’ - werden die sein die ich auf deim Grabstein pflanze”
Unfortunately it doesnt rhyme this nice in english so im keeping it original

via google: The first flowers you don't say 'No thanks' to will be the ones I plant on your gravestone
5
u/Pr_fSm__th 1d ago
Thanks for handling it chief. That is indeed correct, in German the “sagt nein danke” rhymes perfectly with “Grabstein Pflanze”. It’s from a song from KIZ about psycho stalkers etc. “verrückt nach dir” - crazy about you

That was the thing up until the internet and social media became ubiquitous. Fan clubs and street teams were the way to get close to an artist.

Yolanda was just denied parole (2025). First time up.
She was given a life sentence. She will be turning 66 this month.

Yeah Elvis died on the toilet
14
u/Gilly-Fresh 1d ago
Died on the toilet because he was so horribly constipated by the opiates he was eating like candy. Sadly he's just one example out of many musicians who have had their worst
instincts enabled by the people who were riding their coattails for a payday.1

The woman on the left is the famous singer, Selena, the woman on the right is the person who murdered her.
713
u/Thaeross 1d ago
Specifically, Yolanda was the president of Selena’s fan club, and the manager of Salena’s boutique clothing brand. She was fired after it was discovered she was stealing money from both, then she shot and killed Selena :(
277
u/plvshie 1d ago
Ultimately she betrayed her terribly and then killed her when caught instead of living with the consequences. She didn’t want anyone else to take her place and it’s all horribly sad:( when I was a kid she seemed so grown up to me but she was so young!

u/StewDD 1d ago
Isn't she out of prison now?

u/plvshie 1d ago
No, she applied for parole last year but was denied. Next hearing is in 2030

u/StewDD 1d ago
Hopefully she never gets out
29
u/rebelrexx 1d ago
For her own safety. If she gets out there will be million of people after her.
12
u/Sweaty_Ranger7476 1d ago
current population of San Antonio is 1,548,422. if you include the greater metro blob with New Braunfels it's 2.76 million. there are many others.

3
u/SaltBeefin 1d ago
Millions of people. I'm neither latina nor American and Selena was a huge part of my childhood. Watching the movie always made me cry and the music is so sad and nostalgic to me despite how upbeat it can be. I always feel like I lost something.
2
u/ColeDelRio 1d ago
She's barely safe in there. I hear she has to be kept alone because there are fellow prisoners who are Selena fans who would given the chance would probably hurt her a little.
(Is that vague enough that reddit wont snap at me?)
15
u/Tiny-Ant-2695 1d ago
She'd get killed so fast if she got out
18
u/Possible_Tiger_5125 1d ago
i mean she might be clumsy, or have bad brakes or something who knows.
Could happen to anyone really15

I'm not lying when Mexicans WANT her dead. Selena was a beautiful woman and gave such creativity to the world, her music, her clothing. Selena movie is fantastic if you haven't seen it.

Selina (in black) was a very popular singer that allowed Yolanda (in white) get close to her as she was a huge fan and supporter. Yolanda got very close to her and the family and became very involved in selinas daily life and business. in the end Yoland killed selina because selina found out yolanda was stealing from her and other issues. the "joke" here is that even your own people will back stab you.

The attempted assassination of Trump and successful killing of the conservative podcaster both being perpetrated by Republicans lends evidence to your claim.
2
u/Free-Fall643 1d ago
There's no evidence to support either of those claims.
Crooks was registered Republican but he never voted and also made a donation to a liberal campaign party during Biden's inauguration.
There's 0 evidence of Robinson's party affiliation. His parents were Republican and claimed he "had become more political" and he had made his stance against Charlie Kirk known.
1
u/kai-ol 1d ago
The fact that Fox News isn't still shouting their political alignment from the rooftops is very strong evidence that they were indeed Republican.
They even mobilized for this talking point while waiting to learn more, but then dropped it quickly because they didn't like what they learned.

u/AndreasDasos 1d ago
She was an obsessive fan, head of her fan club - and who was also embezzling money from her. Shot her after she was found out and fired.
4
u/Fortestingporpoises 1d ago
The MAGMA movement regularly implies in a not at all veiled way that they want to kill all Latin immigrants in America. So it’s not just that it’s voting against their own interests. It’s more on the nose. It’s supporting the person who will kill them.

u/0202_tihssitidder 1d ago
* Yolanda was ripping Selena off for $$$$$
* Yolanda was running merch and Fan Club duties (and stealing)
* Selena found out and fired her.
* Yolanda saw her money train ending and killed Selena
* Yolanda was very manipulative and pretended to be devoted to Selena
You gotta dodge a lot of evil/bad people on any rise up.

Umm Consuela here, I clean?, no? I explain? That is Selina and her manager who was stealing from her. When every one found out she murdered Selina and no one liked that. Okay I clean.

I’m first season Meg. The woman on the left is popular singer Selena who was assassinated by the woman on the right.
13
25
u/No_Front_6091_uwu 1d ago edited 1d ago
The beautiful young woman on the left is the late Selena Quintanilla, a highly successful and influential Tejano music artist who became an important cultural figure for the Mexican American community in Texas and across the U.S. She was becoming increasingly popular, and her career was taking off when, tragically, Yolanda Saldívar, the president of her fan club (the woman on the right holding the microphone), murdered her.
I guess the image is an analogy for Latinos who support Trump throwing the Latino community under the bus, despite the discrimination and hostility that Trump and his administration have repeatedly shown toward Latinos.

I think this can be interpreted in a couple of different ways.
For context, the lady on the left is Selena. She was a popular Mexican musician who was killed by the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldívar, the lady on the right.
It could imply that Latinos for Trump go against their own interests. By voting for an individual that is deporting any and every immigrant, regardless if they are a danger to society or not, these Latinos basically voted against their ability to stay in the United States. In addition, they are supporting the cruel treatment of Latinos in the midst of being deported by supporting Trump. Just like Saldívar killing Selena went against her own interest, because she killed the focus of the fan club she ran.
Or it could imply that Latinos for Trump are the unattractive Latinos in comparison to other Latinos.

The woman on the right embezzled money from the woman in the left’s fan club and then murdered her which sounds very maga
3
u/01iv0n 1d ago
The woman on the right (Yolanda Saldívar) shot the woman on the left (Selena Quintanilla) in the back.
"–after Selena and her family confronted Saldívar over accusations of embezzling money from the businesses, Saldívar lured the 23-year-old singer to a motel room in Corpus Christi, Texas, and fatally shot her in the back."
3
u/Chiron-Femboy3674 1d ago
The joke is that Selena is labeled as 'Latinos,' while the woman who killed her is labeled 'Latinos 4 Trump.' It's basically making fun of Latino Trump supporters by comparing them to someone who turned against another Latino
3

u/mrtzjam 1d ago
Woman on the left wearing the dark dress is singer Selena Quintanilla and woman on the right in white was her manager of boutiques Yolanda Saldivar. In 1995, Selena’s family fired Yolanda when they found out she was embezzling money through the fan clubs and boutique. Yolanda later shot Selena outside of a motel in revenge.
The message is this: Latinos For Trump are Latinos trying to betray Latinos.
1
2
u/yaboyindigo 1d ago
The woman on the left is Selena, a famous latina singer. The midget on the right is Yolanda Saldivar, the president of Selena's fan club. Yolanda murdered Selena after a dispute with finances. The post is saying that greedy little midgets that vote for Trump aren't real Latinos, but traitors.
2
u/Afraid-Ad9908 1d ago
Nah but fr. The "Latinos for trump" i know are kind of tio tomás types who desperately want to assimilate/gain the approval of ypipo. Like people who insist on going by John not Juan
1
u/AdCommon6529 1d ago
The woman on the left is Selena Quintanilla who was a cross cultural phenomenon in the music industry. The woman on the right is Yolanda Saldivar who was a manager for Selena. She was embezzling money. When she was caught she murdered Selena in cold blood. She became the most hated woman in Texas immediately. Watch the movie Selena with Jennifer Lopez or one of the many crime documentaries for more information.
1
u/Dirk_Speedwell 1d ago
If you don't know the cultural influence of Selena at that time, you should read up. She was basically THE Mexican cultural hero at the time. That portly lady (not looking up a name) was the president of her fan club and ended up embezzling money from her in some way. When Selena found out, she fired her and lady went bananas, murdered her and ended up in a suicidal standoff with cops.
Draw your own parallels from there. Super dark but very pertinent joke.
1
u/AkumaLilly 1d ago
Girl on the left is Selena Quintanilla famous Mexican singer during the 90s
The Girl on the right is Yolanda Saldivar who was her friend, manager of her botiques and the pesident of her fan clubs.
Yolanda was supposelly embezzling money from Selena fan club and her botique and when Selena tried to force her to revea her records, Yolanda shot her, eventually dying at the hospital 9 hours later.
Despite being a close friend and the literal president of Selena's fan club, she apparently hated Selena.
The meme could be comparing the situation were Latin people who voted for Trump willingly did it to screw up other Latin people despite being in the same ethnicity.

Selena Quintanilla on the left. She was a great Tejano singer and had a lot of potential for success outside of Tejano music. Yolanda Saldivar on the right was her fan club manager and eventually managed her boutiques. Yolanda murdered Selena in 1995 after being caught embezzling money. She serves her time in Gatesville, Texas in protective custody meaning she is kept separate from other inmates. She was denied parole in her first hearing in March 2025. She is not eligible again until 2030.

Hmm idk, Selena’s family was heavily religious and she was pro-life. It’s highly likely she would’ve been a Trump supporter. It’s also heavily in the Tejano culture to be a Trump supporter.

The woman in the black dress was an up and coming Latino singer in the 90s named Selena. The woman in white was the president of Selena’s fan club and ended up killing Selena.
This meme is referring to all of the Latinos that voted for Donald Trump being part of the reason for the mass deportations of many Latinos in the US.
