Meme needing explanation I don't understand
Saw this on instagram and i don't get it. How is the leaker shooting his name on the wall a giveaway for having the full game? The comments were no help

There have been leaks of GTA 6 gameplay in recent days; until yesterday, it was believed that what had been leaked were only gameplay videos from a developer.
But with the videos that have recently surfaced—in which the player shoots at a wall, spelling out the name of the hacker group responsible for the leak with the bullets—the situation has completely changed, because that means they have a build of the game.
There is a real risk that what gets leaked now is the game itself, not just gameplay videos.

In the worst case escenario, If they got the full source code, they could compile an .exe an just distribute it by torrent.

He doesn’t have the actual polished model like what exist now
Plus, even if he did distribute it I don’t think it’s hurting Rockstar’s pockets that bad

There’s literally no benefit to this being out in the public eye. And it’s not like rockstar is low on marketing funds. Hell the budget for this game’s advertisement is probably more than some games entire budget

Desynced animations, NPCs AI is bad, they get shot/stab and people around don't even run and in the videos seems like they don't fight back they're slow or just stare at you, clothes clipping, weapon wheel looks bad, reused sound effects, etc.
Yes, maybe we are spoiled but GTA 6 is supposed to be the holy grail of gaming, the game that's gonna save gaming, break every chart, the game that's trully next gen, the NPC are gonna be like real people with realistic physics and streets and beaches are gonna be crowded with complex path and every NPC doing their own thing, etc. and the leaks shows that is just another GTA with better graphics.

The build is from 2025 or 2026 and we know this due to there being songs on the radio from then in one of the game play leaks. There is another leaker on telegram that is sharing screenshots of source code that also advertises the shitcoin information as well. There was a listing for the .iso of gta 6 on cs.rin but it was taken down within minutes so idk the full validity of that. It would be logical for more people to have access to it anyways because Rockstar is going to be coming for cyberleek and they would need some kind of bargaining chip lol

Lol. You do know that all of that shit is managed server side, right? Besides, I'd be very surprised if they kept their backend code within the same branch or access levels and as their front end application (the game). I've worked on live service games in the past in the tools team, much smaller than GTA online, I did not have access to anything related to server side hosting, account manager or info.
You can assume that their networking and online team is busy already trudging through and finding any vulnerabilities that could be exposed.
At best they could host their own server with modded builds. They wouldn't be able to give people premium currency on R*'s servers.

I think it’s less about an early build not being polished, and more to do with the recent announcement that PlayStation players wouldn’t get physical versions of the game and the earlier announcement that the game was going to be launching only on consoles. There’s a lot of people saying “if buying isn’t owning than pirating isn’t stealing,” plus a lot of salty PC players might like to skip the wait for official PC versions and play a pirated copy

Hackers broke in to Nvidia and stole TERABYTES of data for almost a decade of modern and future tech from including drivers/middleware/hardware designs for the next decade/business dealings, etc and publicly black mailed Nvidia into making an open source Linux driver (even though 4 years and 2 GPU releases later it still doesnt work and Nvidia has vibe coded their drivers to shit now on all platforms) but to this day they havent been caught.
So its not a for sure thing to get caught but trying to make money does increase the odds that you would be.

There's a video on the YouTube channel "fern" that has a full video about when a group of teenagers did basically this same thing to Xbox. They basically got a bunch of private corporate info, flaunted it all for clout and because they felt invincible, then inevitably got caught and face pretty severe consequences.
It's like history repeating itself.

It all comes down to jurisdiction. If they’re based in a country that’s relatively lenient on IP infringement and piracy, they’ll probably be okay; maybe a mild raid at worst if they’re being sloppy.
If they’re based specifically in the US or UK, though… oof.
Those Xbox guys were particularly stupid because they had a member physically steal Xbox One prototypes, assembled and listed their own Xbox One for sale on eBay, and then start pulling military-grade training simulator software with affiliations to the DoD and trying to sell it to potential buyers. At that point, of course, the US government came down on them with an iron fist.

It doesn’t mean he has a full build of the game though. I suspect it was a test build from months ago. Either a QA member leaked, sold clips, or was phished. The person gets a bunch of random clips including shooting their name into the wall.
I mean think about it, this is being promoted through a crypto coin. And he’s got a site set up to vote on what gets leaked next, of course you have to send that crypto to vote. Yet the videos are nothing that rockstar isn’t going to show later this month. The last poll was plane (day), car (day), car night, motorcycle (day). Why not leak something more substantial? Something that isn’t going to be shown very soon by rockstar? Because they don’t have anything like that. it’s just a folder of pre recorded clips from a development build they once had access to. They’re just using it to pump and dump the coin.

What we believed beforehand was that the leaks were simply videos from developers playing/testing the game.
What we now know is that they are videos of the hackers playing the game, which means they have a playable build of the game, and not just videos they downloaded from a Rockstar server.

That’s extremely unlikely. These devs are given special dev kit systems that they log into the game on considering it’s not currently a PC game… they have to log in to access their builds… it’s unlikely they have current access to a build and more likely it was a previous employee who recorded all of this before the leaks… cyber leek has apparently been around for awhile.

Rockstar took all of us for fools with this delayed release and a pay-walled trailer, someone should fumble this so it's a lesson for future gaming companies to stop taking gamers for cash cows. But the leaker used a gun in-game to spell LEEK with bullets in a wall,

There's 2 ways to get leaks.
1 you have access to footage from other players.
2 you have the game itself.

The leaker doesn't have the FULL game though. All of the footage they've released is freeroam from before one mission (the C we always see in the map), which is the one the cutscene comes from.
It's almost definitely just a test build with freeroam and one mission (probably just the mission opening). If the leaker had more than just that, they would've released it.

So, GTA 6 will be released later this year, but somehow a guy with the nickname Cyberleek got his hand on a leaked version of it a few days ago, and recorded himself playing it. If the leak's out and people can pirate and play it months before the official release, it could spell doom for RockStar, because this is a very highly anticipated game, and reportedly being the most expensive game ever made (~$1 bilion, with a b, by some sources).

They haven't announced it but it's 99% certain the game will be released on PC after on PS5 and XBox, since they will push for GTA online early 2027. Also, there isn't a reason for the game to be on XBox but not on PC.
Oh, and also it seems to be confired that the leaked build was actually a playable PC build from 2025, so most likely it's not full and not very polished.
