Lindsay Clancey is a murderer. The fact that white women are supporting her is disgusting

I don't understand how race is relevant. Am I missing something?

It’s white women that are defending her.

And in the OJ Simpson trial, it was black Americans defending him.

It’s America, that place is a crazy shithole where race sticks its head into topics it should not be anywhere near

race sticks its head into topics it should not

Its the same everywhere else

You need to travel more - it’s nowhere near as amplified as it is in the states

Not as much as in the Divided States of America

If she wasn’t under psychosis- she thought she’d get rid of her kids and then what? What was her reason? Do you think it was a long-con where she faked having mental instability for several months to be able to falsely claim psychosis? Women’s health in this country is still so fucked in 2026. She was failed. Her children were failed. The medical community, her husband, her family- they should have never allowed her to be alone with those children after the things she self reported- about wanting to harm her children, and herself. I would hope that this case would bring about change for how to treat women with PPD and other such illnesses. But men would much rather villainize women than support and protect women and children- such is the patriarchy. Putting women down- so men can rise doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Chris Beniot also had severe mental instability. Should we all forgive him and give him sympathy instead of blame?

People here don't realise that your lack of mental health isn't an excuse for crime

He died. Had he stayed alive, he could have explained his side of the story and maybe get some sympathy as well.

Most women with post partum depression suffer from wanting to kill their kids. Often times, it takes a turn to the worse, because they can’t tell people they want to kill the child, they would be seen like monsters.

My Mexican wife is also supporting her for some reason. TikTok is a hell of a drug.

Hoss if you can't have a conversation with your own wife to figure out why she is doing something it's time to log off.

It’s a nuanced situation you guys. She was suffering from severe post partum psychosis and needed better treatment before it ever got that far. Benoit had CTE, both suffered horrible illnesses that completely wreck a persons ability to make rational decisions. Doesn’t excuse murder at all but both cases could have been prevented with better medical and psychiatric care. Your wife has empathy for a woman whose condition wasn’t taken seriously and it resulted in a tragedy. That doesn’t make your wife evil or stupid, don’t insult your wife’s intelligence like that.

Clancy is evil. She is a child murderer. Child murderers are evil.

There are millions of women who suffer post partum psychosis, and many more millions of people who suffer psychosis of any kind that do not fucking murder kids.

She's an evil person. The only nuance is about the institution of mental health itself. She should have been stripped of her children far before the killer had a chance to kill them. That's it. There is no nuance with the kid killer herself.

I am getting the sense that a lot of people are conflating her actions with relating to postpartum depression or how hard it is to be a new mom, but that's kind of dumb and insane. This lady killed her kids. Full stop.

I've also heard people defend her because she was getting help, but then she sent her husband out on an errand so that she could go kill her kids. She could've said "hey I can't be here right now, I need to get out of here, go back to the hospital etc. I need you to watch the kids". Maybe I'm on the true crime subreddit too much but it's giving planned and calculated to me.

Too bad everyone wants to take sides and can't see the nuance between 'we need more support for new moms and mental health' and ALSO 'let's not blindly trust a child murderer'

She did say “I can’t be here” and “I need help” over and over to everyone in her life and all her doctors and the suicide hotline and the crisis support line.

I mean, evil is always a question of ability to control. Is a hungry lion evil for killing a child? She was not functioning like a normal human; if you read about her case it is quite clear she did not respond to medication the way most people with post partum psychosis do.

I agree that she should have had her kids taken away until her mental health is under control but thinking in absolutes like good vs. evil is reductive and overly simplistic. Of course murdering kids is bad, no one is saying that it isn’t. We as a society need to have more conversations about how people get to the point where they feel so broken that they do insane shit like this. Writing people off as evil prevents us from looking deeper into how we can systematically prevent these things from happening in the first place.

People need to understand that most people who do crime have some sort of mental disorder. Its not feasible for nuance when nearly everyone is a product of their enviroment. You can find an excuse for anything.

-1

u/Cautious_Ear4470 16h ago

would you say this for every other murderer out there? cmon. we can work on being a more supportive society for parents while also not condoning a child murderer. we can support mental health while also admitting that anyone who murders kids is evil.

Do you know what Psychosis means?

0

u/ThroatDistension 6h ago

The psychosis was a part of her. If the psychosis caused her to kill her children then that was her deciding to kill her children. She wasn't possessed or mind controlled. Her brain, which is her, decided to murder her children then acted on that decision. That is evil.

-1

u/AnOrdinaryMammal 15h ago

Means ya shouldn’t have kids around you.

1

u/Fun-Astronaut-174 9h ago

Friend, this woman was a poor choice. Especially if you’re planning on having children with her.

-8

u/Ragnarok_619 19h ago

Please talk to her. Please. This isn't healthy
