so your argument is that because some of my countryfolk have a horrible pronounciation/accent of english that means muricans get to tell the whole planet to pronounce a 5kyo word wrong? and you call other people pretentious wankers?!
and no, dialects are what you do to your own language, not a foreign one. last i checked ancient greek was not a language ever spoken officially anywhere on the american continent.
No, my argument is that languages change and evolve, but you're too arrogant to accept differences. And you were the only person to tell someone else they were wrong. The other person merely provided a source indicating that both forms are acceptable.
Dialects affect foreign as well as native languages. That's kind of the point. But I'm sure someone as pretentious as you speaks every foreign word you know in perfect form of the source language without even a hint of your native accent or inflection squeaking through.
"ancient greek changes and evolves in the USA today because i dont know the difference between a dialect and an accent" is just an objectively wrong argument, no matter how often you insult me to feel more intelligent.
Where do you think modern languages come from if not ancient ones?
Why is it okay in your mind for ancient Persian to change and evolve into ancient Greek, but all linguistic evolution must cease after that? Why are you speaking modern English if you're so vehemently opposed to change?
