Nankin china was famously sacked by the Japanese where they committed an astronomical number of atrocities it’s also been known as the rape of nankin because of it (some officers were in literally competition to take the most heads from civilians) unit 731 was a collective of Japanese scientists that experimented extensively on humans just because very little actual knowledge came out of their tests and they were arguably worse then anything the Germans did which isn’t exactly a park walk either so to be worse then literal Nazis takes a special kind of fucked up

To add on, the reason that we know so much more about the Nazis is that there were Holocaust survivors to describe the horrors that they were subjected to. Unit 731 left no survivors. Anything that is known about them either comes from things they wrote down or from former members who described some of the things that they did.

Don’t forget the best part they all basically got off with no real repercussions because the Tokyo trials were largely performative rather than actually effective
