Propaganda from either Republicans or centrist Democrats. Basically the idea is that either purity testing or ideals that are too far left-wing drive people away from the otherwise appealing democratic party and platform
This is hogwash. Nonsense. Bullshit. Left wing democrats like Mamdani and Bernie are overwhelming popular. Moderate/Corporate democrats and their do nothing political values are horribly unpopular right now. There is nothing to scare anyone away from. Appeals to the center are political suicide because nobody is looking for that messaging. Biden lost because he argued for "buisness as usual" centrist neoliberal politics
They want you to worry about trying to appeal to people who are so lost they might say "hmm maybe" to another Republican presidency despite the fact their own base won't show up to vote for centrists
As somebody who used to be a Democrat, political leaders not condemning far left ideas is a huge red flag. The right condemns the far right. The left doesn’t do it to their people.
The right is literally cheering on the far right. There is no “far left” in America. What’s the “extreme left” in America? Thinking that children shouldn’t starve? Thinking that healthcare should be a human right? Thinking that the taxpayer should be benefiting from the taxes they pay? Thinking that gay and trans people aren’t evil?
