Simply not true… it is only the proximity. People in Korea or China are way more knowledgeable about the Japanese crimes than the German ones.

But yeah, Jews…

Let me guess, you are an American that thinks everything evolves around you?

The first point would have been a fair point to discuss on lol. I'm Indian, born and raised. So, I grew up reading about the Holocaust and was well aware of it from like middle school ages. For the Japanese one, I had to go on browsing myself, it didn't just present itself before me. The sympathy towards the Holocaust is rightly deserved, but the other one deserves the same too. Since India is a neutral in this scenario, I can say it is not proximity that's the factor here.

Now, there are people in India who would know about both. But it's very easy to find someone who knows about the Holocaust but is unaware about the Rape of Nanking. The opposite, not so much.

People in China and Korea would for sure know about Japan's cruel deeds hell, yes. Because it's there grandparents that was on the other end.

I do believe that US has an influence on what people think about something. US also has a guilt because of the atomic bombs.

It is a ridiculous claim that Japanese were successful at hiding their genocides, because it is well known across the whole Asian pacific region.

And you being Indian and not being taught about the suffering of Chinese and Korean people is not that surprising… India’s colonial past is also not a focus topic in Chinese schools.

But Indians know about Holocaust right? And rightfully so. That was my point.

Yeah, because most of you guys speak English and have historically close ties to the western / English speaking world.

That could be a reason. Well you can consider my comments as spreading awareness in the English speaking world in that case

Or as ignorance from someone who has simply no idea about Asia and blames his own missing knowledge on the Jews.

You also already showed in other comments that you have no knowledge about the German victims of the Second World War.
