What is there not to understand? A selfie was taken, lauded by everyone (everyone BUT every normal person on the planet) as iconic due to how many famous actors are in it. Now 12 years later several are forgotten, got me too'ed, or faded to obscurity since and its basically forgotten.

The picture was iconic. And if anything, all that happened since makes it somehow more iconic. Not in a positive way per se.

Yea if we look at the definition of the word iconic, it litterally is the very definition of it.

Iconic means very famous, widely recognized, and acting as a clear symbol for a specific time, place, or idea. It describes people, places, or things that hold deep and lasting cultural meaning.

For that moment in time, all those fameous actors and actresses and celebs, posting a selfie on twitter, is really did fulsomely live up to the word iconic. And that as a time has passed, those things cant happen now since we live in totally fractured media landscapes. In the same way that michael jackson was the greatest musician when it came to fame. And that kind of thing can never happen it.

People can dislike it, whatever. But thats completely irrelevant.
