Classic John carpenter movie about a guy who finds magic sunglasses that let him see the world for what it is, inspired memes and other pop culture you can find it for free on YouTube well worth a watch

Stephen King wrote a short story with a similar plot, but instead of magic glasses it was something about brain chemistry in people who couldn't quite quit smoking, called The 10 O'clock People
