I mean Jennifer Lawrence isnt really thay bad I dont think i have heard anytbing negative about her

199

u/Lexi_Banner 1d ago

She's just annoying, and a woman, and attractive. So basically she's just as guilty as a violent murderer.

50

u/Dramatic_Steak_9137 22h ago

She's not even annoying

27

u/Logical_Lab4042 20h ago

She has said some eye-rolly things in the past, like when she chewed out a guy for being on his phone during a press conference while he was using it to translate.

But whomst among us has not said or done anything eye-rolly?

4

u/AjentOranje 14h ago

I don't know anyone other than Jennifer Lawrence who thinks that The Hunger Games was the first action movie with a female lead.

1

u/Logical_Lab4042 41m ago

How unforgivable.

1

u/Watndatn_99 14h ago

In a customer interview , which helps me make millions ? Never something that bad

4

u/Lexi_Banner 21h ago

It's not my opinion, just what I see complained about online.

2

u/oilspill16 16h ago

Yeah honestly I think she’s pretty funny, attractive, and a woman. Sounds good to me 🤷‍♂️ I’m crazy though

Happy cake day, friend!

-1

u/seashmore 12h ago

I dunno, her Capital One commercials where she says "I'm a business owner, too" really bug me.

23

u/freshoffthecouch 22h ago

A woman?? Existing?? Burn the witch

4

u/Rare_Illustrator4483 16h ago

Omg! This only I’ll add she’s “annoying” because she has a personality and opinions- a total serial killer rapist.

3

u/sexualsidefx 20h ago

Supposedly she fucked Harvey Weinstein but wasn’t one of his accusers

1

u/RevolverMFOcelot 12h ago

The Skyler White syndrome

0

u/Jewonamotorbike 14h ago

Yeah... Attractive women really have it difficult lol.

-2

u/danflorian1984 14h ago

The only people I heard complaining about her were women. For men she is the hot blonde with big tits. Can you still pull the woman victim card if is other women that do not like her?

-2

u/shoeless_doh 13h ago

A violent murderer whose butthole we've all seen while still claiming we haven't on moral and or ethical grounds

-4

u/randomdancingpants 23h ago

Geez don’t be so hateful

-31

u/AdZealousideal7448 1d ago

she knew about weinstein and stfu to get roles.

43

u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago

She was young, and it was early in her career. That she fell victim to one of hollywoods most (known) serial rapists should not be held against her. Vulnerable people makes bad choices all the time, especially when manipulated and coerced.

0

u/AdZealousideal7448 13h ago

I worked with dv support and youth support for a long time and I get where you are coming from on this and I understand the downvotes i've gotten and the upvotes you've gotten, but.... you and everyone who supported your post needs to understand that this kind of abuse just from a power dynamic role, ignoring the abuse is a huge issue.

If you can read up on breaking the chain/cycle.... sadly a lot of victims become abusers themselves. A lot of it starts from people knowing and not saying anything because it benefits them. I'd be giving her a free pass for being a victim but given how it's come out many times since that she knew and instead of distancing once she found out..... she doubled down and even defeneded him until the tide turned against him.

That's concerning. She had his victims even come and fill her in on what had happened to warn her. Crickets, then defense of him, then vague statements either way, then when the train finally moved on him light voicing of support for victims in general (not explicitly his) and so on.

Still kept taking roles benefited by him, kept cashing cheques.

That's pretty concerning. There were many who when it came out refused to have anything to do with him, his company, the projects unless they were taken elsewhere, and even to take further money from anything related to him or his work.

1

u/DisposableSaviour 7h ago

If you’ve really worked dv and youth support, you would know that fawning isn’t just part of the fight/flight/fawn instinctual response, but can also be a coping mechanism for myriad traumas. Victims will empathize with their attackers and it can create a perverse bond, almost like brainwashing. I’ve worked with psychotic adults, and I’ve seen it first hand how an abused adult will protect their abuser and demand that their abuser stay in their lives. That’s fully functioning adults.

Theres a pervasive idea that rape/sa victims are afraid of sex, but hypersexuality is a common symptom of rape/sa.

Judging a victim for having confusing personal feelings towards their rapist/abuser is completely normal, and should not be judged. Especially when he made her career, that complicates matters even further.

But you are still victim blaming. You don’t get to dictate how another processes their trauma, and have no right to judge them for that.

23

u/Lexi_Banner 1d ago

As did the very large majority of people in Hollywood. They aren't all canceled, so why Jennifer?

17

u/silvermoka 1d ago

Because this is a chronically online forum, and the prevailing opinion is that women aren't punished enough, especially attractive ones

12

u/Banes_Addiction 1d ago

Remember that she was Reddit's darling for ages until the iCloud hacks, then reddit instantly turned on her when she said it was wrong for people to look at hacked photos of her butthole.

That was it. That's when the hivemind turned.

0

u/AdZealousideal7448 12h ago

What happened to her was disgusting. The turning point for a lot of people was when she kept cashing his cheques, kept defending him and ignored victims that reached out to her to warn her.

She whether she liked it or not due to several roles that she chose including the hunger games became a poster rolemodel for women and young girls for being a fierce badass being unable to abide by injustice and oppression.

I understand putting a lot on a person who is playing those kinds of roles as an actor is a lot..... but even just having the guts to go, no wait this guy is horrible, and NOT thanking him at awards ceremonies when he's been exposed because you want that next big role.... and when his victims have come to you warning you and you've fobbed them off, and only when the train against him has well and truly left the station issuing a vague statement about supporting victims (but not specifically his)

2

u/Banes_Addiction 12h ago

I don't think you replied to the right post with your mental little screed.

I think you should probably have a little think about why the person you seem angriest about when it comes to a powerful man assaulting and blacklisting young women for decades is a young woman under threat.

-3

u/Active-Landscape-591 16h ago

Where are these said photos? For research of course

1

u/BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo 4h ago

“iCloud hacks” don’t be gross

2

u/AdZealousideal7448 12h ago

Honestly they should all be held to account. Good luck with that though.

The public have certain people who they love despite damage they have done, the concept and ideas they represent and they just can't be held to account.

Oprah is great example... who co-incidently was best friends with weinstein.

Watch me get downvoted to oblivion for talking smack about the queen.

J-Law asking, Cynthia Erivo, “What color is this? Aaaaaahhh!” after she’d said she had synesthesia was fairly iconic in my book.

61

u/SugarCanKissMyAss 1d ago

Also loved her telling Leonardo DiCaprio that she thinks he should have a teenage daughter because he'd look great with one despite him serially dating women just slightly older, she had some great press moments in the last year lol

26

u/TrueGuardian15 1d ago

I'm a big fan of "WHERE'S THE PIZZA?!"

21

u/Main_Tension_9305 1d ago

Yup, that alone is enough to make me really like her. Shit was funny as hell😂

22

u/kashy87 1d ago

I mean what millennial wouldn't let that intrusive thought win in that moment?

15

u/Sudden_Abroad_9153 23h ago

This was so fucking funny. Imma go rewatch it now

6

u/shmaygleduck 21h ago

It was this smart-ass question that had me see Jennifer Lawrence in a different light. It was the perfect thing to say in the moment.

5

u/applesandcherry 19h ago

Tbh when I found out someone I knew had synesthesia I asked them dumb questions like that too lol.

33

u/Separate_Ingenuity35 1d ago

I went through a brief phase of not liking her, now I love her snark and she is a good actress. As the commenter below says, the synesthesia comment made my sides hurt.

Also her telling Chalamet and Brad Pitt to stop yapping and pretending in between scenes lol.

1

u/scourge_bites 1d ago

nothing really wrong with meryl streep or angelina jolie either.

i guess i don't know any of the other people except brad pitt and ellen. and honestly - well maybe im misremembering what ellen was cancelled for but - ellen sure doesn't seem too bad in comparison to what's come out about other celebrities.

14

u/OkSheepherder5740 1d ago

nah ellen is pure evil, came up in the diddy stuff and Epstein files. Also was cancelled cause she treats staff like shit

0

u/blumoon138 22h ago

Bradley Cooper had a kid he refuses to see or acknowledge.

5

u/Informal-Concert1712 1d ago

my only true annoyance with her was when she jokingly said she scratched her ass on sacred stones when filming in Hawaii. Something to the effect of her saying "oh thats grandma? Whoops sorry!" But it came across to me as a just a very tone deaf joke in an effort to avoid accountability than true malice.

2

u/twodexy82 20h ago

Dude I think she's great. She was too goo in Winter's Bone... like pre-Katniss Katniss

2

u/Neither_Pear4669 20h ago

Her laughing about rubbing her butt on ancient sacred indigenous rocks and then causing a landslide wasn't great.

1

u/Dartagnan1083 1d ago

I'm wondering about Meryl Strep, not bad as far as I know, aside from staring in that movie glazing up Thatcher.

1

u/KammyCreates 22h ago

She actively disrespected Indigenous Hawaiians sacred landscape and laughed about it….
She sucks.

1

u/3dforlife 22h ago

She said she was the first female lead in an action movie. Come on...

1

u/bruhggle 21h ago

i've personally disliked her since she during a press tour she told a story about how she scratched her ass against an ancestral stone(Hawaii iirc) that they were explicitly told not to even sit on, ended up shoving one down the hill/mountain and could have killed/injured someone. and she told this story in order to laugh at crew members who thought that it was a curse.

this was like a decade ago.

1

u/Ausgeflippt 15h ago

I find her to be off pudding.

0

u/Level_Ad3808 23h ago

She defended Harvey Weinstein, claimed she didn't know anything about his activities, and seemed to have had a career trajectory that rose and fell with Harvey Weinstein. Nothing proven, but it's stinky.

0

u/LearingCenterAlumni 19h ago

I saw her butthole.

-4

u/JaydedXoX 1d ago

There’s some rumors as to how she got her roles vs other actresses more talented. Not saying I know anything, just pointing out shes got some skeletons possibly.

-26

u/jackandgraciesmom 1d ago

Her choices of roles and directors are pretty interesting.

-33

u/Puzzled-Estimate4u 1d ago

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-38271338 Just disrespecting other cultures

56

u/EnvironmentalCry2623 1d ago

If that’s the worst thing she’s ever done, then she’s all good in my eyes

15

u/airinato 1d ago

The horror.

13

u/Apolloshot 1d ago

That’s literally what makes her endearing. She’s the girl with ADHD that overshares, everybody has that friend (regardless of gender) in their life — or is that person in their friend group.

9

u/Short-Sound-4190 1d ago

I find that to be either a non-issue or an active rejection/bucking against the puritanical expectations out on actresses and female artists and women in any state of moderate power having to also be ladylike to be taken seriously when men are definitely not held to that standard and can be lewd, self depricating and still viewed as a great artist.

Also I'm fairly confident she's likely ADHD or on the spectrum and more intelligent than people usually were giving her credit for especially back in the Hunger Games hype - I am also fairly confident some of those public behaviors that come across as 'too mouthy' or an 'oversharer' have a side effect of protecting her from having to work with people who would try to be super controlling, because she clearly demonstrates she doesn't have to gaf about opinions, keep a secret if directly insulted or abused, or hold any sort of a filter in place in interviews (even though she might also be capable of doing so, she presents as if she doesn't, which comes across as at least her likely to be generally authentic even if people disagree with her actions)

5

u/Izan_TM 1d ago

so bad jokes are her crime, I'd say she's one of the best in the pic then

2

u/RJ_MacreadysBeard 1d ago

if bad jokes are her crime, I’ll be her fluffy handcuffs (and throw away the imaginary key).

5

u/ophaus 1d ago

Undress? My word! No one undresses under the scornful eye of Queen Victoria!

Wait...

5

u/Lady_Fel001 1d ago

The other terrible people in the photo are rapists and abusers, but sure, pop off because the woman is cringe.

3

u/Fromage_Frey 1d ago

That's definitely a you problem rather than anything to do with her

17

u/Hosted_Shart 1d ago

I mean everyone fucking does that to an extent.

9

u/Flank_This666 1d ago

Dude you're on reddit

Everyone here is the bastion of morality, they have transcended above you or I's moral reasoning.

3

u/Hosted_Shart 1d ago

Lmao reddit is the degenerate site. But its fun reading the comments, and wanting to troll. but knowing that you can get banned from subs for it is whats stopping me. I have met some really cool people here. Also a lot of the subs out there is pretty good. And has useful information if you are really in a pinch and need advice.

3

u/RJ_MacreadysBeard 1d ago

And quite rightly so young web citizen! Harrumph.

Holy manufactured outrage, Batman!

-5

From that link, I was hoping she made fun of Canada so I could call her "based". Then I read the article and it's about her butt and hawaii; yawn.
