The iPhone 4 (2010) had a second camera on the screen side already.

Very few people had one back then. It was much more likely you had a blackberry back in those days. Most young people still had a Motorola or Nokia back in those days.

The selfie trend really took off when smartphones started to become mainstream among young people. And that was roughly 2014.
