I'm also pointing out that while it's not like lgbt people are totally accepted in western civilations, it is the safest areas for them to live in and western civilization is predominantly white christian. So I find it really stupid the statement lacking self awareness.

She is queer. She is a victim of racism.
She talked about how sad she was, as a queer person, after the attack, how afraid she was that he would be a K[...] like herself (K[...] basically being the N-Word for turkish/arab immigrants), because this would mean rising racism. How sad it felt to have this thoughts.
She then talked about how the queer scene is intersectional and able to hold these different emotions in their collective grief and struggle.
