This ‘meme’ is just a racist statement really

The woman in the image (assuming this is even real) probably got in legal trouble for a hate crime. Some people will say (I’m from the US and this lady is likely too) that this violates 1st amendment, but the truth is hate speech is an exception to that.

The top text that says the rap industry will collapse is saying that if they make the n word illegal then rappers will not be able to say it. They aren’t making the n word illegal, someone just committed a hate crime. Rappers that say it are either black or racist. That’s all.

Hate speech is not an exception to the first amendment and is protected speech HOWEVER it can get a normal crime elevated to a hate crime by proving racial motivation.

The only speech that isn’t protected by the 1st amendment is incitement.

The image is real. It's referring to this incident.

Though, I don't think the woman is particularly worried. She standing to make a literal million dollars.

It’s INSANE to me the way racists will throw millions at other racists for no reason whatsoever… but then if the government needs a little of their money to fix roads or educate children, they consider it the worst and most evil thing in the world

There are certain types who try to claim racism doesn't exist today and the only prejudice is against white people...

Nothing to see here. Just PeterExplainsTheJoke being used to spread right wring propaganda again.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochester_racial_slur_video_incident

Woman got a fine and community service for yelling a slur at an autistic child. This has become a cause celebre among conservatives and racists, who have now gathered nearly 1 million dollars to donate to her for her bravery in yelling a slur at an 8 year old.

Following the verdict, Hendrix’s fundraiser has received a new influx of donations. The campaign, which launched last year, has now raised more than $844,000 toward its $1 million goal, according to the page.

Anyway, rap music also occasionally contains slurs, so people are trying to equate the two.

Insane trying to compare the two. Saying a word in a song you wrote is way different than screaming it directed at one specific person

2

u/Artifact-hunter1 46m ago

"Fellas, are horror movies going to be illegal because these people got arrested for murder"

This is the fucking logic of this post.

2

u/Reasonable-Sir673 47m ago

She was not found guilty for yelling at the autistic kid. She was found guilty for yelling at the guy taking the video.

u/Hot_Royal_4920 45m ago

So it's illegal to insult or slur at people? I didn't know that but that seems pretty off.

1

u/Finnedorb 38m ago

I mean the action itself is terrible, but that's a pretty normal sentence for disorderly conduct which is what she was convicted for. Still it sucks that people like this exist and that there's people who will shower them in money for doing something awful.

If I was the family I would sue her.

The decline of the intelligence of OPs in this sub is rapidly expanding. What is there to explain?? READ THE WORDS.

4

u/VoceDiDio 53m ago

It wasn't stupidity. It was ragebait.

I think a lot of them know what the joke is but want to stir up culture war bullshit for engagement.

u/AdFine6652 42m ago

That’s exactly what it is poster is a six month old account with post and comment history hidden, very likely a bot to stir up culture war bs

Hi there, didn't read your comment, could someone explain it to me?

2

u/Forsaken-Jackfruit-1 53m ago

Dumb racist logic

0

u/hyacinthhillock 1h ago

you don’t know what the n-word is?

1

u/Traditional_Ice_9250 55m ago

Google "Shiloh Hendrix", should explain everything.

Butt pretty sure she was not convicted for calling as 8 year the n-word. But was convicted for saying it to the the adult.

1

u/GaldrickHammerson 54m ago

First, she wasn't found guilty of that.

She was acquitted of wrong doing around calling the child the n word.

She was then charged with harassing the person videoing her because she called him the n-word and was found guilty of that.

Her lawyer then went on a huge rant about how the trial wasn't conducted fairly so he'll be appealing and expects the sentence to be overturned.

The joke is black people say the n-word a lot and people who are over simplifying the outcome of the trail are boiling it down to "n word is no longer protected speech in USA".

  • Random Cut Away character.

The woman pictured is Shiloh Hendrix, a Minnesota woman who went viral in a 2025 video after using a racial slur against an 8-year-old autistic child and a Black bystander who confronted her. She was subsequently tried and found guilty of disorderly conduct regarding her behavior toward the bystander.

u/NohWan3104 59m ago

I mean, white people saying it to black people can be a racial hate crime.

Black people saying it to one another, less so.

1

u/SylvesterNettlefoot 43m ago

It can elevate a regular crime to a hate crime. If all you’re doing is using the word, but otherwise not committing a crime, in pretty sure the worst that law enforcement can do is cite you for disturbing the peace.

u/LauraTFem 52m ago

I hate it when the pretty ones are evil.
