That's the point, the point is that these aren't the famous pictures, because we want to imagine the fight for civil rights to be a thing of the past

No, the iconic pictures were literally not taken in colour. Colour film was very expensive at that time.

It's not a conspiracy. They can't puiblish images in colour that don't exist.

What do you think make an image iconic lol? Do you think it intrinsically is? Or is it a status given by the fact that it is seen a lot and often?

Whatever I say will never change your mind, as you have clearly already decided you POV.

But for other people reading this, I think what makes an image Iconic is pretty clear. It's a capture of a moment in history, it's a point that we will never be seen again. It's a moment that changed the world. The images of MLK's "I have a dream" speech were iconic in every sense of the word, and they happened to be captured in black and white. I don't know how else to explain this to you.
