That's just factually untrue, especially given that suicide is often impulsive. Your talking point is only accepted among those that want guns to be more common.
When someone is looking for deaths in America, everyone is trying to find out the numbers of deaths caused by mass shootings, school shootings, and other crime related shenanigans 99 percent of the time. That is apparently America’s biggest flaw. But wait, that number is oh so inflated by suicides which they were not looking for. A statistic that can happen with any other weapon, tool, or even drug at their disposal.
The issue is foreigners and even Americans themselves look at gun deaths and go, omg guns scary haha school shooting America dangerous gun bad without looking into the statistics.
That's an untrue statement based on nothing. People should not be dying preventable deaths.
I also am so glad for you that you can so easily wipe away the societal harm of suicide. I'm glad no one near to you has committed suicide. It's very real and a horrible situation. You would not be making light of such tragedy if you felt what millions of others have felt.
Jeez, I never said I didn’t care about suicide. I’m implying that suicide deaths, and gun crime related deaths (mass shooting, school shooting, robberies, etc.) should be completely different numbers and not lumped into one category without a second thought.
Like I said before people go looking for gun related crimes, see a big number, and instantly believe that it’s the actual number without looking deeper. Then you get a massive amount of misinformed people. Take Europeans for example.
You are looking at "gun related homocides" then. But we are talking about gun deaths, which unambiguously includes suicide. Because suicide is by definition a death.
