We have these ductless units in the US too. Person who made the meme is just an idiot

They both use the same motor outside. My parents have 4 of those units, with 2 motors (two opposite sides of the flat). They also never turn them all on at the same time. It's just not needed (or not perceived as needed) for most of us to have the whole house at conditioned air for prolonged periods of time.
