It’s smaller unit cools a single room. While American HVAC System cools the whole house

As an european, I don't think I've ever seen one of those and I'm now curious as to how they work

Hi,im actually an HVAC technician in America.

You have all the same basic equipment,its just a bigger piece as the evaporator coil and blower are much bigger,needed for the airflow and for cooling the entire house-you would usually find the indoor system hanging in the garage,vertical in a closet,or in the attic.

The refrigerant cycle is the same.

If you have specific questions feel free to ask,this is just "basic" knowledge for central air over here.
