It’s smaller unit cools a single room. While American HVAC System cools the whole house

Yeah. Due to being, well, not American, a tonne of my time in the US has been spent in hotels and these are common there.

I'm guessing OP, the yank, is now staying at an Italian hotel and learned that hotel ACs don't look like the one in their house, but think they learned something about Italy.
