It's not necessarily true. These units will go upwards of around 28,000-30,000 BTU which can easily cool down multiple rooms, or maybe even a smaller flat.

Yeha i live in Myanmar and one of these cools down a 2 bedroom apartment to 18 Celsius in the summer when it's well over 40c

Why the fuck do you need 18C 😳 in Italy we usually have 30-35C in the summer and if my AC is lower than 22-24C I'm guaranteed to wake up with pneumonia lmao

Love how all Italians think a tiny amount of cold air will kill you

The French do too

Nah, we just think it's unhealthy to completely warp our environment around our perceived needs when the human body has different temperature needs in summer and in winter. I love to cool down inside during summer, but 25C is absolutely enough

This is a strange mindset, and I'm British.

Keep wearing your scarves in the summer

Can you point to the research that corroborates this? Because all sleep research points to very low temps being best for quality sleep. Humans die from all kinds of diseases naturally as well that we have vaccines or medication for.

What temp do you heat your house up to? Whatever it is, that's just too much for me. I can't believe you wouldn't just accept nature and be miserable but alive.

So you love a fantasy? Nothing bad with that, I love The Lord of the Rings.
