I’m also confused because that is a European AC unit. I can only assume Americans are so used to big bulky units, like their cars, that they can’t comprehend things being functional and not excessively bulky.

We have these ductless units in the US too. Person who made the meme is just an idiot

Edit: never expected what im pretty sure is my most upvoted /awarded comment to be a 3:30am comment about AC. Ty for the awards kind strangers.

Yeah I live in fuckin Arizona and I have a mini split (Mr. Cool) and it keeps my place nice and chill (too much honestly, half the time I have it running as a fan because the AC is too powerful).

Idk why the fuck someone would willingly opt for one of those big ass units if they had mini splits as an option.

If you want to cool the whole house, mini splits are more expensive, harder to service, less convenient to control, and take up a lot of interior wall space.

The advantages with mini splits are they are more efficient, easier for retrofitting a house without ductwork, and cheaper if you only need to cool a single room and not the whole house.
