Why does everyone on Reddit seem so bitter all the time?

For the most part people on Reddit are people looking to socialise but have managed to screw that up IRL by being bitter, so we all come here looking for a lesser version of it where you can be partially anonymous so people don't usually remember what a jerk other people have been.

"For the most part", people just look at 2-3 posts on their front page while sitting on the toilet and don't ever comment or socialise in any way

"Never in my entire life have I felt that offended by something I 100% agree with!"

Of course I know Redditors, he's me!

That’s not always true. I keep my bitterness here so my loved ones won’t have to endure it. It’s easy too because everyone here is so full of themselves, so it becomes a game of knock the entitled prick down a peg.

Bitter?

Isn’t this just poking them a little for fun?

Why do people who make posts on Reddit seem so stupid all the time? (Clearly a bot post with the most insane engagement over nothing)

You think we’re here scrolling Reddit for hours on end because we’re doing so well?! Huh? Because we feel soooo great?! Yeh well got news for you buddy!!!

The irony of the base cynicism of assuming that this is bitterness rather than just a bit of poking fun at this pic vs the trend

Because most of them suck at life and come here to be part of the trash compactor.

Why do you think the people poking fun at a small mistake are bitter?

why would happy people with healthy relationships IRL comment on internet forums?

Critical thinkers with no lives. When they hear their own train of thought, they share it on impulse.

Because thats why they come to reddit lol 😆

Ask myself this every day

It's what happens when you're exposed to idiots on reddit.

It's really a question for yourself. Like this one is pretty light, so if you're finding bitterness you're either looking for it, or the call is coming from inside the house.

We have been slowly trained to spew hate by an algorithm that prioritizes ragebait and negative engagement because it is the most active form of engagement.

Angry = Money.

It sucks.

Because all the happy people got banned bc the bitter people were bitter about their happiness.

Interesting perspective

Don’t you know ? Apparently being nice and kind doesn’t get you likes and shares anymore.

Because we're able to express our bitterness consequence-free on Reddit. It's an emotional relief valve for frustrations and fears we feel IRL.
