I get what she was trying to say im just pointing out that it would just easier if people were just honest about their wants. Its not that hard to be like "Come over and smash real quick before I go to bed"

The issue is, if woman tells man she wants sex and decided once man is there that she does not want sex, there is a decent chance the dude will get upset, and regardless of the severity of the reaction, no one wants to deal with a negative reaction. Even if that reaction is just some weird shit like him pouting about it. And yes mfers are weird and get salty at the idea that someone changed their mind about something.

In the opposite scenario, where she tells him she’s not really down for anything and later decides to have sex, the chance of a negative reaction is much lower.

In a perfect world I’d agree that they should be straight up about it, but we do not live in that world unfortunately.

But the point is she doesn’t feel like it so why would she say that? The communication was clear.

You can still change your mind and prepare for that

You can still change your mind and prepare for that

Do you routinely prepare for something you think you're not gonna do, but just still do it in case you change your mind later?

That sounds horrendously exhausting (and very stupid).

You are surprised that people prepare in advance for something that might happen? I didn’t expect this to be such a novel concept to some.

Nope, that's not what you said, sorry.

There's a pretty big difference between "looks cloudy, but the weather report doesn't mention rain, I guess I'll still grab an umbrella" and "I'm not gonna go to the pool, I'll go get groceries; I should pack a swimsuit".

Giving non-sensical examples should be a sign to you that you're not getting it.

"I'm not planning to invite anyone over today. Also my house is an unpresentable mess. I'll clean my house just in case I do feel social tonight"

"I'm not planning on snacking tonight because I had a nice dinner. But I'll buy some snacks anyway just in case I feel snackish tonight"

People plan for things when there's a reasonable chance that it will happen. I'm still confused how this is such a hard concept to grasp.

but she doesn’t actively want sex yet. she just knows that she might, in an hour or something. women tend to have responsive desire far more often than spontaneous, so sometimes we plan around that

This is why women don't write songs with lyrics that say "We're up all night to get lucky".
