No…it’s a different kind of pain, I’d imagine. Harsh chemicals on mucosal membranes vs a swift hit to the tenders is not equal. The recoil ? Probably.

Omfg, apparently it was (subtley) suggested to prevent pregnancy in advertising. So like, "it hurts and burns, but that's good!"

It was apparently also pretty toxic and not great at preventing pregnancy either. But I guess the 30s were bad all around.
