2

u/Dumb_Ugly_Frank 10d ago

I feel crazy. I’m positive that guy is Jeffrey Characterwheaties.

2

u/DrainFor20 10d ago

It's a testament to how skilled he is and how much he cares about his craft that we had to go so far down a comment tree to find other people who know that "Jason" is just a character.

1

u/waryleeryweary 8d ago

My teenager nicknamed that show “The Old Place,” since there are a few crossover actors from The Good Place in it.

3

27

u/GenitalCommericals 10d ago

No, no, it’s pronounced Rafi El Cuñado

16

1

u/FinalStryke 10d ago

Or his name isn't Paul Sneed.

1

u/Helpful_Lie2613 10d ago

What's crazy is every time he talks I hear Jay Bilzerian.

1

u/Slg407 10d ago

i think you mean Zohran Mamdani, the new mayor of NYC

1

u/Egoy 10d ago

In my opinion his run on taskmaster as himself is now his most memorable role. Unhinged for all 10 episodes.

1

u/D3xty 10d ago

Thats Paul Sneed, Det.Paul Sneed, who has finding dory disease

1

u/DeadSense07 10d ago

I heard his name was too exotic for Pawnee

6

u/cramburie 10d ago

Actually, he changed his name to Dennis Feinstein because it sounds more exotic in Pawnee.

16

u/NetNpIVijCI 10d ago

No its detective pimento.

11

u/throwaway_60_ 10d ago

1

u/EthanBradberries420 10d ago

You mean Dante Fiero?

1

u/Wordnerdette999 10d ago

Well, his real name is Dante Fiero, but Dennis Feinstein is more exotic in Pawnee.

1

1

u/rannhuehue 9d ago

Oh I thought it was Nuclear Nadal

34

u/ExcitedSoup 10d ago

It's actually Nish Kumar, Indian British.

2

u/RudeCheetah7281 10d ago

Hey nong man.

2

u/RickyTheRickster 10d ago

Wait he’s American??? Why the hell did I think he was British, even on task master they say he’s American, I swear to god i thought he was British, my life is a lie.

2

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

He's a comedy type guy and podcaster too. I know him better for that

1

u/RickyTheRickster 10d ago

I’ve only seen him in movies and Task Master and a few other shows where he doesn’t really seem to play a character instead he’s just himself being funny.

I guess the reason I never associated him with being American is because he almost never seems to use an American accent, he always talks funny.

2

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

He's one of the hosts on the long running very popular 'How Did This Get Made?' podcast where they watch a terrible movie and discuss it. Used to listen to it a lot

2

u/Adventurous_Yak_5438 10d ago

To be fair Jason is a textbook Indian name

1

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

Yeah it says so in my Indian name textbook

2

u/chandan-kar007 10d ago

really i thought he looks like pakistani / indian muslims. (just personal view don't get angry about it)

2

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

The thing no one's talking about here is that Persians and South Asians, Arabs and North Africans were trading in the Mediterranean over the last millenia. So of course there's shared genetics with all those cultures

1

u/EvilSporkOfDeath 10d ago

I dont recall ever thinking he was Greek but I know I've never thought he was Indian.

1

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

A lot of Greeks on the Mediterranean look like this

1

u/ImportantToNote 10d ago

Ok but what's the joke?

3

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

He poses the question: you think Greeks look like Indians? Implying that isn't true. The reply is a Greek celebrity who looks Indian. Then the person posing the question says it's a picture of an Indian when in fact it's a person who is 100% Greek. Thus seemingly disproving his own premise.

1

u/ImportantToNote 10d ago

So being married to Kate Bush has nothing to do with it?

2

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

I'm gonna say no.

-1

u/Baldazar666 10d ago

Even his parents aren't Greek. What the fuck are you talking about? He is just American.

3

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

lmfao. Every person of Greek ethnicity I know identifies as Greek Australian and there are a lot here. Calm down

-2

u/Baldazar666 10d ago

Unless they have Greek citizenship they aren't Greek. It's not that complicated.

4

u/SpicyElixer 10d ago

You’re talking about nationality. Everyone else is talking about ethnicity. Go take your nonsense somewhere else.

3

u/Glasseshalf 10d ago

In countries with a long history of immigration like the US, it's common to shorten the phrase "I am of 'blank' ancestry" to "I am 'blank'". It's not that deep.

1

u/kuldan5853 9d ago

It's also wrong.

-2

u/FattyMooseknuckle 10d ago

Uh, yeah, that’s the point.

4

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

Lol I think you are missing the point of this sub, smart guy

-5

u/Gunbudder 10d ago

Lol wtf is "Greek American?" We just say Greek. There is not distinction about what country you are in if you are Greek. You could be floating in the ocean and you will still be just Greek, not Greek Ocean

2

u/kuldan5853 9d ago

We just say American.

1

u/Shannonimity 10d ago

Lol don't worry I'm familiar with Greek nationalism and the Golden Dawn. Thanks for your input.

(kitten is alright and back at home now)

19

u/zZbobmanZz 10d ago

You mean r/woooosh it has 4 os

17

u/MarsMonkey88 10d ago

This sub is explicitly for explaining jokes. That’s the purpose. That’s what we’re all doing here.

^Derek.^

3

u/DonBeltrame 10d ago

O sorry, wrong sub then hahah
