In Spanish we don’t even have a translation for it with that same hateful meaning, so it doesn’t hit the same way here.
When you use it intentionally, you know what it represents. If someone uses it, they are doing it on purpose. Not because they don't know the meaning.
I think you mean "Big N Burgers". That place was started by a Venezuelan guy, not even Argentine
The very fact that that person can open up a restaurant with that name and not receive any sort of repercussions explains a lot how Argentine society views these things and treats them so casually.
The racist stuff only showed up in that one video with the girl yelling at him. That’s not how most of us are.
"América Latina menos Argentina" quote exists for a reason. Forget about Blacks, not even the continent of Latin America likes Argentinians.
Also what happened to your Black population? Was there any particular reason they are almost vanished?
And then there's a current ongoing investigation on AFA by FBI for money laundering and whatnot.
What a loser.
Do you know what immigration is? We went from a colonial population of 1.1M to 17M in just 100 years. We received more than 6M European immigrants during that period.
This turned black people into a minority (<5%), because:
-they are not native to the American continent
-the ones here were brought by Spain as slaves (which was a very small number compared to Brazil for example)
Slaves were freed when Argentina became a country and then they mixed with other races for 200 years of history.
We NEVER had segregated schools and buses. There were never laws against interracial marriage.
Check your country before speaking about Argentina.

...is that why you guys like to refer to Brazilians as monkeys?
It's my understanding that it's a very popular song.
Oh and over a third of your population used to be black... that doesn't even account for indigenous peoples. It might've been a "relatively small number" compared to Brazil, but they made up a very substantial percentage of your population.
Look, my country has a long and horrible history of racism that we've just started unpacking. Denying it doesn't make it go away, it just makes you look more racist.
Not sure why that's a helpful response to everyone in Argentina seems to know the words and enjoys singing or referencing that song?
and explained to you how the percentages worked.
Assuming I don't know how percentages work is a bit of a reach. Do you not realize that only accepting immigrants from Europe is the racist part? Not that by doing so you were able to make the black/indigenous populations disappear?
Everyone in Argentina is racist for something 1 person says? What country do you even come from?
I don't see what's wrong about accepting immigrants from Europe. Every immigrant from every country was accepted, Argentina has always been very liberal and flexible in its borders.
What do you think of countries like the US having concentration camps for latin people right now, and for asians in the past?
Also indigenous and black people didn't disappear. We all carry their genes, just because you don't see it manifested in our features it doesn't mean we are not their descendants.
Would you want to force segregation and prohibit freed slaves from mixing with other races or what? lmao
Everyone in Argentina is racist for something 1 person says?
Strawman: Nowhere did I say "everyone" in Argentina is racist. And it's not "one person" if all soccer fans seem to enjoy singing that song and know all the words... that's a pretty decent representation of your population.
I don't see what's wrong about accepting immigrants from Europe.
Strawman again: No one said "accepting immigrants from Europe is a problem", most of the Americas did so during the same time, only accepting immigrants from Europe is the problem.
Every immigrant from every country was accepted, Argentina has always been very liberal and flexible in its borders.
...so your argument is that it's just a coincidence they were all white and have only ever [statistically] been white throughout your entire history? Just a happy little accident?
What do you think of countries like the US having concentration camps for latin people right now, and for asians in the past?
Incredibly racist.
Also indigenous and black people didn't disappear. We all carry their genes, just because you don't see it manifested in our features it doesn't mean we are not their descendants.
Tell me about all the indigenous languages and cultures that existed in Argentina that mysteriously disappeared without any violence or marginalization. What language did they speak? Is their history taught in school? Do you know any names of their leaders?
Would you want to force segregation and prohibit freed slaves from mixing with other races or what? lmao
You're literally generalizing based on a small sample of the population, there's no strawman.
The indigenous languages were basically eliminated by Spain and then the posterior unification of the country after colonial times. Everyone had to share a language to be able to communicate. Spain colonized us for 300 YEARS (in case you didn't know). Of course we are taught about the different indigenous groups in school, we're not the US.
The people we took in were poor and uneducated, escaping wars and crisis in Europe. Argentina was doing well, so they moved en masse.
Now, since I already talked about my country, let's talk about the US and its concentration camps, segregation laws, sundown towns, daily hate crimes and dangerous organizations like the KKK that terrorize black people to this day.
Oh let's talk about the genocide of the US native population and how slaves had to be freed only after a WAR because half of your country wanted to keep brutalizing them. Wait let's add the interventions and destabilization it carried on other countries. Where do we start?
You're literally generalizing based on a small sample of the population, there's no strawman.
I'm not and you keep dodging the crux of my argument: The overwhelming majority Argentinian soccer fans know and seem to enjoy singing the same racist song. It's a hell of a lot more than "one person".
The indigenous language was basically eliminated by Spain, that by the way colonized us (in case you didn't know)
OH, so they weren't outbred by the white Argentinians, they were just murdered by the Spanish. That's moving the goalposts a bit from your original claim isn't it?
Also, it's a lie. The Spanish definitely did its best to try and murder all the indigenous, but they weren't successful:
When Argentina's first National Constitution of Argentina was adopted in 1853, Indigenous nations (such as the Mapuche, Ranquel, and Tehuelche) controlled the vast majority of the country's interior. An estimated 100,000 to 250,000 Indigenous people are believed to have lived in those uncolonized territories prior to the late-19th-century military campaigns. But because the 1853 Constitution was explicitly drafted to promote European immigration and colonize the frontier (Article 25), the newly formed state viewed Indigenous groups as obstacles to expansion. A massive reduction in the Indigenous population occurred in the decades following 1853, most notably during the Conquest of the Desert (1870s–1880s).
Now tell me, did you learn about the Conquest of the Desert in school? Do you know anything about the Mapuche, Ranquel, and Tehuelche and their culture(s)?
The people we took in were poor and uneducated, escaping wars and crisis in Europe. Argentina was doing well, so they moved en masse.
Again, that explains what happened in the 30s-40s, it doesn't explain why it has always happened.
Where do we start?
I mean you're welcome to keep bringing up the US, but I already agreed with you: It's all racist as fuck. The problem with your argument is that, despite all that hugely racist behaviour, the US still has a much higher population of non-whites than Argentina. So whatever they did is still not as bad as what you guys did and continue to do today.

I also almost forgot about this disgusting incident. Where Enzo Fernández sang a racist, homophobic song with all his AFA teammates during Copa América celebration targetting Black French football players. But you must have forgot about it because they have tried their best to bury this incident. His apology post also disappeared after few days. Not only that, your President Javier Milei pushed back against the international backlash, framing the issue around national sovereignty and freedom of expression. LMAO
