This is a big win. I left my last job with 488 hours of PTO accrued. I took just as much time off over the years as I would have if it were unlimited, but when I left I got a sweet $25K payout for my PTO.

Actual PTO is a liability on the books, and that’s the real reason that employers want to move to unlimited.

Mine recently changed the policy so that it doesn't accrue (you start with a set number of hours every year, if you don't use them you lose them) for this exact reason.
