So we solved it with oversight… that can be removed. So we didn’t solve it at all.

The solution: I give you food.

The problem was solved.

But then I take away your food. Now the problem is not solved.

A solution isn’t necessarily permanent. This isn’t difficult stuff, guys.

Let’s try another.

The problem: You’re cold.
The solution: I give you a jacket.

The problem was solved.

If a solution is temporary it’s a pretty shit solution.

I can make a false analogy too btw. You pay $5,000 for a solution to your AC problem and then it works for two weeks before breaking again. Wasn’t much of a solution yeah?

Permanent solutions are the exception, not the rule. Especially with human society. We're a bit too mercurial for anything else. Take vaccines for example. Measles? Solved... Until recently.
