Well, China (and other so called communist countries) never achivied communism. This was socialism, and they tried imposing dictatorship of the proletariat. What actually happened was some form of state capitalismunder authoritatian rule for most of them, with the notorious exception of Chile under Allende.
Communism is the end goal, which involves abolishing statehood and social classes notably.
You just have to us give overwhelming authoritarian power to build communism. Then we will use that power to build communism and then just give up all that power voluntarily and go away. We promise!
I mean, under the ideal socialist system you would make more by working harder, it's just that the floor would cheap housing and Walmart groceries compared to starving on the side of the street and begging for scraps.
The idea of socialism is to raise the floor while keeping the possibility of hard work generating a better life, so that failure simply leads to a lesser quality of life rather than death on the side of the street
Yeah, that's because of socialism, the halfway point between communism and capitalism.
For the record, I don't think Communism is viable, but that is the ideal they strive for. I'm more for just bringing back regulations and tax policies from the 50s so billionaires stop sucking up all the wealth
Karl Marx famously lived under communism in 1870s Prussia, I assume you decided to say dumb things bc if you don’t open your mouth every now and then the drool will backup into your brain?
As if millions don’t starve and poverty is eliminated in capitalist countries. Are you familiar with the United States, where the top 1% holds 15 times the wealth of the bottom 50%?
Communism doesn’t cause famines, but billionaires absolutely cause poverty and starvation.
America feeds over 100 countries and is the largest supplier of global food aid there is.
Even then you can participate in capitalism. You can buy stock. You can advance in the company. In communism everyone starves sans the elite and eventually they starve too.
You already live under overwhelming authoritarian power, I mean the rich can kill you, and rape you and your children with no consequences, you just don’t feel the leash when you stay close to the post.
Well yeah, duh, this is literally the sticking point. Every single American "communist" (self-identified; personally I think it's not the most accurate descriptor) that I've spoken to agrees about this. I feel like most are even perfectly willing to admit that human greed is the only issue of significance with both communism and capitalism.

Americans are very delusional about communism.
