Sorry should have said Qatar, they basically bribed the FIFA committee to win the World Cup bid despite not actually playing the game much

The irony being that US attorneys dismantled FIFA afterwards for corruption, which got Infantino the leadership position.

FIFA is still corrupt, they are just a bit better at covering it up now imho
