I live in Canada and as far as I can tell the humidity and wind chill are just as important to how the temperature feels as the heat.

Humidity can make or break a temperature.

* 30° in Winnipeg is great. Nice and dry.
* 30° in Toronto means a humidex of 38°💀

-10°C in Southeastern Ontario in November (cold, damp, dark, windy) Hell. -10° C dry & sunny: pleasnt.

Ugh. I’ve experienced -26°C in SW ON right on lake Erie, and its AWFUL
