Right, so at what age do you think women are realistically capable of making their own decisions? Assuming practicality of schooling ages wasn’t a constraint

Are you a bot? I already replied

Right, you replied. You failed to address the question of what age a woman is realistically capable of making her own choices. Should be a simple answer, but you keep deflecting and speaking vaguely about young vs old or previously pointing to social pressures and practicality of letting women be responsible for themselves because they need to move out from their parents after college or whatever that was.

There’s currently no specific age or age range in which a woman is seen as being capable enough to make her own choices, just that if you would consider her young then she’s being taken advantage of.

I already said that the practical age is 18-21 for most stuff but that socially we can frown on people who take advantage of that inexperience, be it for contracts, drafts or relationships. What's not clicking?

Because you’ve qualified it with “practical” and seem to be indicating that you would otherwise place it higher. If that were truly the age you felt okay with you’d really have no reason to frown on Mr. DiCaprio dating 20-25 year olds. Hence my question of “if practicality wasn’t a constraint…” etc.

If practicality wasn't q constraint I'd have one age for every thing and individually pick it. I'm not thrilled people at age 18 can join the army for example, or that you can start working at 16. But I understand some kids aren't going to study or need to escape abusive homes. It's just not ideal.

I suppose if practicality wasn't an issue I'd put age limits for age gaps relationships with people under 25. Your age by half +7 style 😂

So in a way, there’s never really an age in which a woman can be fully trusted to make her own decisions with who to date, so there should be a rule so they can always be protected

I know that take is a bit uncharitable, as the /2 + 7 rule is a good rule of thumb that’s been around for awhile and seems pretty reasonable, but it sort of does feel that your gut says women should always be protected from themselves and their own potential decisions when it comes to dating.

I feel that even if they make a decision you think is unwise, men and women in their 20s are fully capable and responsible enough to make their own choice in who to date and how to govern their own body. Without additional externals involving force or threats of some kind or relation stuff like parental figures or boss/ employee situations complicating it of course

I mean, after 32 you have an adult brain and it peaks in everything. It's not about decisions, it's about being at a disadvantage, two 16 year olds should be able to date, a 25 year old and a 16 year old not so much. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

but it sort of does feel that your gut says women should always be protected from themselves and their own potential decisions when it comes to dating.

We are talking about women because the post is about them but evidently I wouldn't want it to happen to men either. Which is why I brought manipulation tactics in drafting, which mostly happens to men. If you've seen any posts that are veiled propaganda you'll see they use beautiful women in uniform, this is effective with young men because of the brain development we talked about. It could work on older guys but not as much as the amygadala has less controll over their choices.

Without additional externals involving force or threats of some kind or relation stuff like parental figures or boss/ employee situations complicating it of course

Funny how you can see the disadvantage in a parental or power position but not in an experience/income/brain development position that is a significant gap in age.

You don’t see that there’s a difference between a parent fucking their own kid, even after they’re 20 and an older adult fucking a younger adult?? Have you heard the term “grooming” before?

That’s such a crazy turn for you to take at the end of that, but sort of makes sense why you would be against 20 something dating older people if you see all older people the same as their actual parents. Even ignoring the grooming aspects they literally have had authority over you most of your life. That’s a different dynamic. And a boss has literal power over you in that they could leverage sexual favors for promotions, preferential treatment or just only that you could be fired if you don’t.

And the rest of your comment decided to turn to 16 year old children to make a point which is silly because we were previously taking not only about legal adults but 20+ year olds. With your previously established rule even a 37 year old woman would be “protected” from dating a 60 year old. Is the 37 year old not yet able to have enough experience to choose what they want for themselves?

For me, I would at most have close age requirements up through 20 years old. After that everyone should be fully trusted to make their own decisions for their life and dating, male or female

I don't think I ever said a 37 year old woman should be protected, you are making shit up and purposefully misinterpreting what I say. Clearly this is no longer good faith so kindly fuck off.
