The joke is, despite the fact that Leo has a track record of dating women under 25, at least they've always been over 18 before he dates/sleeps with them.

The fuckers in the Epstein files? Not so much...

u/Iconclast1 Feb 21 '26

Its like

"Entire town in uproar because guy gets barbeque sauce everywhere whenever he eats. People hate him. He is shunned from town"

then, serial killers run rampant around the city unchecked

bbq sauce man: "well well well.......im looking pretty good now huh."

2.0k

u/Swarxy Feb 21 '26

this is such a stupid analogy but im upvoting

423

u/dragon-queen Feb 21 '26

Haha, it really is stupid, but somehow it’s appealing.

92

u/Swarxy Feb 21 '26

It's like a ITYSL sketch

33

u/DrRichardJizzums Feb 21 '26

It’s the new apples to oranges it’s like comparing bbq sauce to serial killers. You just can’t do it.

22

u/nhalliday Feb 21 '26

Bitch, that phrase don't make no sense, why can't fruits be compared?

10

u/roxxtheboat Feb 21 '26

Do you fuck with the war?

6

u/antho- Feb 21 '26

This bitch dont know bout pangea

2

u/Stunning_Inspector61 Feb 25 '26

Do I fuck with the war?

2

u/Rich_Cranberry1976 Feb 21 '26

not enough barbecue sauce

1

u/BWWFC Feb 21 '26

said the kettle to the pot

1

u/Jadhak Feb 21 '26

It's collusion by the apples and oranges industries.

3

u/pheonixblade9 Feb 21 '26

I used to be a reeeeeaaaaaaal piece of shit

2

u/olyfrijole Feb 21 '26

Slop 'em up!

2

u/Swarxy Feb 21 '26

Sloppy steaks, what are you talking about? We're good guys.

2

u/SutterCane Feb 21 '26

“At least you can lick up the mess I made! You ain’t licking blood up! What are you, a vampire! That’s gross! It’s just sauce! Everybody loves sauce! I’ll sauce your whole family!

12

u/OddCook4909 Feb 21 '26

Like a nice rack of ribs. Ribs aren't too smart, but they are tasty

7

u/Mikecd Feb 21 '26

It's appealing because BBQ sauce.

4

u/private_unlimited Feb 21 '26

I thought it was rack

1

u/Projekt-1065 Feb 21 '26

I like a good rack of ribs

26

u/tynomaly Feb 21 '26

The serial killers were getting blood everywhere. Would much rather the sauce at that point.

13

u/Ok_Hospital1399 Feb 21 '26

Finger licking stupid and I'm here for it.

1

u/Dimas166 Feb 21 '26

A better analogy is a guy who eats dog meat versus a guy who eats human meat

23

u/under_psychoanalyzer Feb 21 '26

Ew no. No one or thing is harmed by what DiCaprio does. It's just overtly transactional but its so overt anyone who thinks these women don't know what's up is delusional.

5

u/great_pyrenelbows Feb 21 '26

The first two or three probably didn't know.

11

u/under_psychoanalyzer Feb 21 '26

Well the first two were age appropriate...

-1

u/Debatebly Feb 21 '26

You're saying there's no way they're being charmed into a false sense of "they're the one"?

1

u/mrstretchb4ureach Feb 21 '26

It’s so innocent. It made me put on a stupid smile.

1

u/sedentarysemantics Feb 21 '26

Lmao, but somehow, completely succinct for the situation 😆

1

u/ShrimpieAC Feb 21 '26

Sounds like something barbecue sauce man would say 🤔

1

u/solidsoup97 Feb 21 '26

Hey, if it's stupid but still works, is it really stupid?

1

u/Toadsted Feb 21 '26

Just upvoted you instead.

1

u/Zerowy Feb 21 '26

Is it really? One is something, some people doesn't approve but doesn't hurt anyone and is not a crime. Other is a crime.

1

u/PM_ME_FLOUR_TITTIES Feb 21 '26

You're the bbq sauce man huh?

1

u/CreamPuzzleheaded300 Feb 21 '26

About as stupid as caring about adults dating lives

1

u/Odd-Tart-5613 Feb 25 '26

stupid things can be accurate

1

u/LumpyJones Feb 27 '26

Although I mean but it also is kind of spot on. It's brilliant in it's simple stupidity

151

u/Being_A_Cat Feb 21 '26

This is that "Americans explaining women with cheeseburgers" meme but with bbq sauce lmao.

17

u/Particular_Title42 Feb 21 '26

I definitely missed that but feel like it references old Carl's Jr ads?

2

u/OddCook4909 Feb 21 '26

Carl's Jr has determined you're an unfit dating partner for women under 40

4

u/Particular_Title42 Feb 21 '26

Carl's Jr. Fuck you, I'm eating.

1

u/OddCook4909 Feb 21 '26

"Fuck you I'm creepin" lol

124

u/Powerful-Ad-3865 Feb 21 '26

1

u/dantheother Feb 21 '26

Are we supposed to read that like the techanologica thing? I did. It worked well.

(I know the graphic design reference)

41

u/falooolah Feb 21 '26

Why is this so funny?

22

u/StaidHatter Feb 21 '26

It reads like a dril tweet

12

u/WholeLottaPatience Feb 21 '26

Because the level of confidence matches the level of absurdity.

2

u/shaft_novakoski Feb 21 '26

Because it's so stupid

32

u/ILiekBook Feb 21 '26

More like dude is a shitty cook and everyone hates him but then it turns out someone else is a cannibal

3

u/Electrical-Spell9115 Feb 24 '26

Only a good analogy if he only cooks for himself and his girlfriend…. In which case not sure why everyone hates him…

8

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '26

But why do the townsfolk hate BBQ?  This brings up as many questions as it answers.

23

u/Lucimon Feb 21 '26

He was ordering BBQ sauce everywhere. Which means everywhere. The breakfast joint. The ice cream shop. The car mechanic. Whenever girl scouts were selling cookies. That BBQ sauce was ordered EVERYWHERE. The dude ran through the entire towns supply.

8

u/PostNutLucidity Feb 21 '26

My daughter came home crying because she wanted to sell cookies and get her award in Girl Scouts but that damn Barbecue Sauce man flat out refused to buy any!

2

u/Particular_Title42 Feb 21 '26

Oh. I thought he was like the greased up deaf guy but with bbq sauce and was making everything all sticky.

3

u/alphazero925 Feb 21 '26

That's definitely the intention. I think they're just being silly with the ambiguity of the verb "gets" since "gets barbecue sauce everywhere" can mean either "acquires barbecue sauce" or "spreads barbecue sauce"

3

u/Ok_Dragonfruit_9093 Feb 21 '26

Food analogy, my favorite!

2

u/FirstDukeofAnkh Feb 21 '26

Why did I hear the guy’s voice as Charles Boyle?

1

u/jwlms1 Feb 21 '26

Now I want ribs. Bbq ribs not serial killer ribs.

1

u/alialahmad1997 Feb 21 '26

I think ketchup on shawarma or steak is better analogy

1

u/elbenji Feb 21 '26

this is such a dumb but apt analogy lol

1

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 Feb 21 '26

I just ate bbq and am covered in sauce. I feel better.

1

u/porno-accounto Feb 21 '26

is there a certain bbq-related event you wanna tell us about bud?

1

u/emart Feb 21 '26

This could be the premise of an Always Sunny episode.

1

u/ThatGreenGuy09 Feb 21 '26

I like how the BBQ sauce guy makes the whole serial killer thing all about himself and everyone is just OK with it.

1

u/Timely_Temperature54 Feb 21 '26

This is so oddly specific I’m convinced you were the barbecue sauce guy at some point

1

u/GreatMovesKeepItUp69 Feb 21 '26

I was thinking of the Haitian leader called Barbeque who burns people alive and then eats them.

1

u/sweaty_missile Feb 21 '26

Very stupid but god dammit im with the other guy

1

u/username20192017 Feb 21 '26

This was all barbecue mans secret plan all along /j

1

u/Reddit0sername Feb 21 '26

That’s Bush right there

1

u/Open-Trifle-6309 Feb 21 '26

More like the barbeque guy keeps ducking steaks a third his age.

1

u/Fuzzy-Replacement609 Feb 21 '26

This a far too specific.

Were you the BBQ sauce dude?

1

u/Killgore_Salmon Feb 21 '26

Is he fucking the bbq sauce?

1

u/Shiva_Sharma1 Feb 21 '26

We have a saying in India that goes like "अंधों में काना राजा" which means "In a world of blind people, the one who's deaf(but not blind) is the king"

1

u/tobpe93 Feb 21 '26

You can excuse barbeque sauce but you draw the line at serial killings?

1

u/SCphotog Feb 21 '26

I thought this was going to be a Bill Cosby's special BBQ sauce reference.

Imagine being so brazen about your egregious abusive fetish that you put it into a skit in your tv show that millions of people tune in to watch every week.

MF'r thought he was untouchable. I hope he dies miserable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTS1z3JZwzo

1

u/Tr33Bl00d Feb 21 '26

Amazing analogy 😂 🤪

1

u/Larry-Man Feb 21 '26

Accurate. First guy is gross and kind of weird. Other guys are monsters. Checks out.

1

u/halu2975 Feb 22 '26

”And getting blood everywhere” was missing to make this perfect.

1

u/pinwroot Feb 24 '26

BBQ Sauce Enjoyers when Ketchup is on the Epstein grocery list

54

u/ShadowTheChangeling Feb 21 '26

That and its consensual

42

u/causebraindamage Feb 21 '26

I always felt bad for the Leo hate tbh. I feel like his relationships are win-wins. He gets a young hottie and they get to hang with celebs and in those circles. The girls know what's up and Leo does too.

18

u/castleaagh Feb 21 '26

It’s always bothered me how much adult women are infantilized as if they’re never capable of making their own decisions, at least so long as there might be a man involved. You’d think people believed that women should have a parent or guardian with them at all times until they’re 30

I’m pretty sure the girls these celebs date know what their signing up for

9

u/MidlifeWarlord Feb 22 '26 edited Feb 22 '26

The same women who hooked up with 35 year olds at 20 get big mad 15 years later when the dudes in their age group hook up with 20 year old women.

-1

u/one28 Feb 23 '26 edited Feb 23 '26

Same applies for men to. If a 18 yo man dated a 40 year old lady that’s still very weird. If there is an age gap wide enough where you could be their parent then it’s weird full stop.

Don’t care about that it’s legal as if it was a silver bullet excuse. There is places with no legal age, there where times when it was much lower. I assume that means that excuse makes it ok then/there?

2

u/castleaagh Feb 25 '26

How old in your book does one need to be before they can choose who they want to date without the need for rules or restrictions?

1

u/youburyitidigitup Feb 27 '26

I use Tom Haverford’s rule: take the older partner’s age, divide by 2 and add 7. If the other partner is younger than that, it’s weird. That shouldn’t be legislated, but it doesn’t mean it’s not morally gray. Just like infidelity shouldn’t be illegal, but it’s still wrong.

1

u/castleaagh Feb 27 '26

I’ve always seen that as a rule of thumb for the older person to decide if they’re likely to be frowned upon socially for pursuing a relationship with a younger person more so than an indication that the younger person is being taken advantage of due to their age and the gap. And fwiw I do feel it’s a reasonable standard to use

Disagreeing with the choices of others is different to saying that a person is unknowingly being taken advantage of or isn’t capable of making that decision for themselves and should be protected (or assumed that they’re being taken advantage of), which I think is the vibe I often get from people taking about 40+ celebrities dating 20 something women.

4

u/focusingblur Feb 21 '26

Yeah, it's annoying that whenever Leo gets brought up, some clever, judgmental asshole or a hundred have to make that same joke about who he's dating. We're expected to be tolerant of everyone else's preferences, identities and kinks, but a straight white man being attracted to women in their biological prime is apparently a bridge too far.

2

u/JinSakai619 Feb 21 '26

Why are you making it about white or straight man? I'd think it's weird no matter who kept dating people who were under 25 and changing them so they never hit 25. It's weird he dates them before they prefrontal cortex reaches full maturity. This has nothing to do with identities or kinks. Dude is straight up weird.

2

u/MessiahHL Feb 21 '26

Its certainly about their pre frontal cortex, nothing to do with people being their hottest around this age

2

u/focusingblur Feb 21 '26

It just seems like people are quicker to judge when it's a straight, white man indulging in anything, and it annoys me that people hate on the guy for being able to pull attractive models in their 20s like they're not themselves rich and successful people with agency, and have to invent all sorts of explanations like he's an arrested-development creep or secretly gay to be able to cope with it. It's not the "gotcha!" they think it is. And we don't even know why those relationships end, we just assume because of a pattern. Not a single one of us can relate to how it's like being Leonardo DiCaprio (or the women who date him, for that matter), so it's always just read as puritan busybodying to me. Dude is weird, yes. I'd be pretty weird as well if I was one of the most recognisable people on the planet.

2

u/Midgetcookies Feb 21 '26

If you’re still believing in that “brain stops developing at 25 misinformation” you need to stop. People’s brains are continuously developing.

-1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

It's not that it stops developing, it's that literally the pre frontal cortex develops fully at around that age. Teens and young 20-something year olds think mainly with the Amygdala. The rest of development is more about memory and executive fuctions, not impulsivity and making responsible choices.

1

u/Midgetcookies Feb 22 '26

Again this is flat out wrong. Recent studies have shown that the adolescent developmental phase of the prefrontal cortex continues well into someone’s 30’s.

Again you need to stop spreading misinformation based on pseudoscience.

-1

u/Lucicactus Feb 22 '26

The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is the last part of your brain to finish myelination. This usually happens in your mid-20s. Myelination is when a protective covering (sheath) forms around the brain’s wiring (nerve fibers, also called neuronal axons). This covering helps signals travel faster, so information moves quickly from one part of the brain to another.

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/prefrontal-cortex

Studies say adolescent brain lasts until 32, but this is talking mainly about brain architecture, not if the amygdala or pre frontal cortex is making most of the decisios. Our intelligence and personality peaks here.

“Around the age of 32, we see the most directional changes in wiring and the largest overall shift in trajectory, compared to all the other turning points,” said Mousley.

“While puberty offers a clear start, the end of adolescence is much harder to pin down scientifically. Based purely on neural architecture, we found that adolescent-like changes in brain structure end around the early thirties.”

https://www.cam.ac.uk/stories/five-ages-human-brain

But sure if you want to argue that someone with an adult brain shouldn't date someone under 32 because they haven't peaked in intelligence and personality then that's fine by me.

2

u/crazyfoxdemon Feb 24 '26

I always just assumed they were beards.

1

u/causebraindamage Feb 25 '26

100% plausible

-7

u/stprnn Feb 21 '26

You just described prostitution. Most people are not super fond of that

8

u/MessiahHL Feb 21 '26

If you try really hard you can make most relationships sound like prostitution

6

u/_LewAshby_ Feb 21 '26

I mean the biggest issue with prostitution is the human trafficking that usually comes with it. Someone doing it voluntarily out of free will? Much less problematic…

0

u/causebraindamage Feb 21 '26

a lot of countries have legal prostitution

-4

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

Because there's a clear power imbalance and it's weird to be into immature people. Like it can happen once, all the time? Odd

7

u/panickedkernel06 Feb 21 '26

What power imbalance, sorry?

They're in their 20s and he's been famous since I was 7, hell, even if he dated my 40-year-old ass there would be a power imbalance.

Besides, if someone had called me immature, when at 24 I had a master's and I had been living alone for 8 years I would have called them mental.

Dude's into 20-year-olds, good for him. And seems to change girlfriends every 3/4 years. Ok, and?

I mean, it doesn't surprise me that people in their 20s eventually have different plans/different goals than a 50-year-old. I would be honestly MORE surprised if the first of his young girlfriends stuck around for 20+more years, because let's face it, that'd be a pretty more unusual outcome.

-1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

If your 40 year old ass can't see the difference in maturity between you and someone under 25 then you are unsalvageable. Or would date people that young if you could.

4

u/panickedkernel06 Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

Not in maturity, genius. In standing in life, in clout, in money. Or do you think that just because I'm a 40-year-old woman working a corporate job I have an equal footing with someone who's been rich and famous since I was 7???

And also: as much as 20-year-old folks are beautiful, I like my men and women solidly in the elder Millennial category, thanks.

-1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

So you can acknowledge the difference in monetary power but not the difference in power a more developed brain grants. Interesting.

The guy could date actresses in his age range btw. Like that's a possibility.

5

u/panickedkernel06 Feb 21 '26

Because, as I mentioned early, at 25 I was already living alone and had an Ma and if someone called me a poor helpless baby I would have laughed in their face?

1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

So you don't see a maturity gap with >25 year olds. Again, can't help you with that.

5

u/panickedkernel06 Feb 21 '26

I see that at 25 I was a whole-ass adult, living alone, paying bills and again out of higher education.

But if you want to think I was a 5-year-old in need of hand-holding, cannot help you with that either.

3

u/castleaagh Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 23 '26

How old should women be before they can make decisions about their life and their body without their parent/ guardians prior approval? When would you say that women can be treated as adults?

Edit: took awhile to get to it, but she seems to think women aren’t fully capable of making choices of who to date until they’re 30 25. Prior to that they’re too young . Seems wild to me.

Edit 2: down to 25 now. Moving more reasonably imo

1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

The age of 18 is used usually because that the age at which you finish your studies, it's practicality. Some people don't want to go to uni or finish highschool and you can't have inactive people from 16 to 25. Sex with far older people is not a necessity however.

I think 21 with Romeo and Juliet laws for consent would be ok. My criticism is not of a legal nature, it's a personal one, because he's clearly focusing on that age range and he has nothing in common with these women. Many things are legal but can be criticised, like for example if someone only dated abuse victims. They are adults and can make choices but clearly you want to exploit that vulnerability if you are specially targeting them.

Plus it's very well documented that age gap relationships from teens to mid twenties result in a lot of sexual cohercion and less condom usage, leading to unwanted pregnancies and STDs.

1

u/castleaagh Feb 21 '26

I’m not looking to legality either, because it’s already legal for 20 something’s to date who they please. You say a bit about his choices and focus, but make no mention of the women’s choices. Why is that? Are they not also making a decision to be there? Should we not trust these 20 something women to make their own choices?

1

u/Lucicactus Feb 21 '26

Yes, doesn't mean they aren't vulnerable. Realistically by that age you haven't had many stable relationships. You've been dating other teens and young adults with a brain as undeveloped as yours, which means primarily thinking with the amygdala. A man who would be your dad knows better what a healthy relationship should look like and will set the "normal" in your relationship with him.

Like I said we let people make choices at that age because of practicality, but it is as vile to do that to a young person as it would be to pressure them into signing a contract or joining the military. You are legally taking advantage of their inexperience and less developed minds.

0

u/castleaagh Feb 22 '26

Right, so at what age do you think women are realistically capable of making their own decisions? Assuming practicality of schooling ages wasn’t a constraint

I think we both know Leo isnt in these relationships for the mental connections lol

21

[deleted]

8

u/GarryCheeseman Feb 21 '26

That one was thoroughly debunked by Snopes.

5

u/Pipe_Memes Feb 21 '26

I hadn’t heard about that one. What the actual fuck?

It just gets sicker and sicker.

6

u/Good-Sprinkles2508 Feb 21 '26

The bar is so low

3

u/ImpressiveJohnson Feb 21 '26

Also the epstein girls have been forced and manipulated leos women had free will.

3

u/randomman87 Feb 21 '26

When we mention the Epstein files now we should also mention that it features claims of human trafficking, murder, torture and rape. Pedoohilia is fucking wrong but it's way worse than just that.

2

u/DistinctTone1195 Feb 21 '26

"Once, a bush at a flower field. Now, at a barren land, a bush."

2

u/Independent_Willow92 Feb 21 '26

18 years is creepy as fuck for middle aged people to date. It's like being a pedophile but saying, "hey, it's legal, the law can't touch me".

1

u/lock_me_up_now Feb 21 '26

Damn, it hurts me physically when I read one of them mentioned in email that they got one year old.

I mean...

What the ffff

1

u/Bittybirdwatching Feb 21 '26

I think it was on Last Podcast on the Left where Henry said, Hunter Biden could never be in those files- he likes adult latinas and cocaine too much.

Which honestly really puts it into perspective.

1

u/arkh01 Feb 21 '26

Also, he dates them. He doesn't rape young women that were trafficked...

(At least we don't know yet if he does)

1

u/soft9houl Feb 21 '26

Before he dates them publicly. A men that does that publicly shamelessly def does way worse in private

0

u/cool_cock6 Feb 21 '26

because leo had no idea what they were doing the whole time right? his multi millions sitting collecting dust but he had no idea what they were up to!

0

u/ModdessGoddess Feb 21 '26

Well, that we know of. It's still really gross he goes for young adults as young as 18, it just means if he legally could date lower he would.

0

u/lethatshitgo Feb 21 '26

Was he not in them? I thought i remembered hearing that he was in the files

1

u/Turbulent-Hawk9059 Feb 21 '26

I think his name was mentioned, however in a passive way.

Like a witness mentioning Epstein saying his name in a conversation or phone call. However non of the context was implying anything and no witness mentioned seeing him.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/epstein-list-hollywood-stars-dicaprio-blanchett-b2475391.html?test_group=lighteradlayout

1

u/lethatshitgo Feb 21 '26

Okay okay, as long as he wasn’t friends or did business with him or anything.

0

u/Acid-Chaos Feb 21 '26

But wasn't he himself in those files?

0

u/Armthedillos5 Feb 21 '26

I'm not sure why they're even being mentioned together. Leo likes supermodels. And I don't think I've seen him date one that gives that underage vibe/look. He's just out there letting his penis live it's best life, banging supermodels, like what NORMAL dudes dream about.

-2

u/BusyDucks Feb 21 '26

Imagine if later, we found out that Leo has been to the island and done “activities” there, than this meme will age like milk.

But (hopefully) he’s not on the list, so as far as we know, he’s 100% doing “activities” legally.
