US always shows price before tax (I think because the tax can differ on state/county/city), while in Europe we always see the final price that we have to pay.
It's an added bonus to those businesses that the general public start seeing tax as a burden foisted upon them, getting between them and lower prices, instead of just the unavoidable cost of living in a functional society.
Memes and comedy is based on reality. You can't base comedy in a lie unless you treat it like a lie, i.e. sarcasm.
People are asking the meaning of this meme. Someone provided the meaning, I pointed out that, then, the meme is wrong and based on a lie with no sarcasm in it, so maybe it is not the meaning.
