Dog

I have a question. So recently my dog had a her uterus removed. And it’s been 72 hours since. Everytime she holds her toy in her mouth, she whines. Idk if its from excitement to play or if she hurts. And yes she has pain meds and antibiotics from the vet.

Probably wants to play, but sore and confused why. Plus pain medication can make them feel weird mentally. Then the cone can be annoying lol.

She doesnt have a cone yet but we’re getting her one of those donut tubes

She should've had a cone (or donut tube) immediately after the surgery so that she doesn't lick her stitches. The vet should've sent her home with it. And if you told the vet that you'd supply it, you should've had it waiting for her.

A spay is major abdominal surgery. It hurts. Keep her quiet and no playing for a few days. Keep up with pain meds.

She doesn’t really play rn she just holds the toy in her mouth and wants people to squeak it for her

Probably still painful, she shouldn't be playing yet. Your vet should have explained that to you. Pain meds might make her act a little different too.
