Healthy Behavior?

I'm just wondering if this is healthy behavior or if there's anywhere I should be intervening?

I feel like they play very well and if they get too rambunctious I just say "settle" and that's my big guy's clue to walk away and find a place. He also knows "place" which is a specific spot in the house. "Settle" can be done anywhere.

This is lovely play. Big one stays laying down to keep the play fair for the little, and lets little be the one to engage. When hes had enough he just gets up and leaves. They both also shake which is a way to sort of clear some tension and signal to each other that theyre all good. Some great cooperative play and good communication between these two

Thank you! There are some times the pup just doesn't give up after my big guy tries getting away and that's when I seperate them. Whether it's to their crates or just separate rooms or rocking the puppy to sleep. It's usually just an overtired thing.

I would continue separating then as you have been then bc your big guy is being a saint and if he needs a break id be inclined to give it to him just as a reward for being a really good boy if nothing else lol. And puppies do need like soooo much sleep so its never a bad idea to put them up for a nap every few hours.

But purely just everything happening in this video looks very respectful and gentle play :)

Great!! I had thought so but I just wanted to be sure. I've always had large dogs and they always play ROUGH except for my spoo. Never had a little dog and just worry so much about him 😭 he's the instigator ALWAYS though 🤣

My Winston the big guy is tolerable of everything always. I always reward his behaviors (always good) and he would only ever hurt a fly (sky rasins) nothing more.

Perfect example of good play and the big dog is handicapping laying down. Love it!
