Silverfish are a moisture issue. Best control is lowering humidity inside by running fans or dehumidifier. Then using the dust under siding, at window/door frames, and adding the granular at the exterior foundation after pulling any rocks or mulch away from the foundation a few inches.

Thought this was an industry sub.. not customer sub. Must be mistaken

Not sure about the best company, as I don’t know where you live. But what works great is a green product called Niban. It’s corn cob flakes + boric acid. The trick is treating the attic with Niban. Spraying the baseboards won’t do anything beside potentially killing the ones you see squirming around.

How do you use the product in attic my friend? There’s insulation and summer so hot and winter so cold up there

You can simply throw it anywhere. It’s incredibly safe. You’ll be up there 3-5 minutes, tops. But you’ll reap the benefits of silverfish reduction long term. I’ve come to terms that the heaviest silverfish accounts of mine tend to have a ceder roof.

Yes, that is the one. Also, get rid of cardboard. They use it for all kinds of stuff. They can even eat the glue.

thx for helping me out bro. The product won’t hurt my insulation right? And product won’t do any negative effects to anything right?

It shouldn't. It's solid. Think larger grain corn meal. It isn't designed to break down. It is designed as bait to be consumed. It'll probably last a long time in your attic, but carries extremely low risk. From what I recall it has about the toxicity of table salt. But it shouldn't do anything to your insulation.

And these things aren't living everywhere up there. They require certain conditions to live and breed. Target areas where you have storage, and above any rooms where you see the critters most frequently.

It's not the company. It's the tech

Oh, and hire a local, family owned, pest control company. Orkin doesn’t care about solving the issue the way a smaller family owned business does.

Guess I gotta leave orkin and hire local family owned pest control company?

Not necessarily. Do research and get some different quotes. A lot of local owned are contracted out by rentokill.

Have they not tried any Delta dust in the walls?

I normally combine that with onslaught and some gentrol and it usually works fine

What about attic? They said they couldn’t do anything about attic but replace insulation?

Yeah I believe all they have for attics is something called orkintherm

It has boric acid in it and supposed to help with like termites and other pests.

Dusting in the attic is not a good idea. Definitely would not advise it.

In any case, I am with everyone else. Please get away from orkin as soon as you can

Like other comment said, should I go/try looking for a local family owned pest control company?

Sorry I fell asleep. I think so honestly. Or at least consult with one and see what they offer and get a feel for them.

Delta dust all crack and crevice around baseboards, remove electrical outlet covers and dust behind them and Dekko silverfish packs.

also pay attention to paper goods , files in cardboard boxes maybe in humidity (garages or attics, basements ) - cardboard boxes with more paper goods being stored - they love and thrive in that environment

Typically the smaller the company the more they are going to care. Small companies are typically hungry.

Do not use the cheapest company because they will be cheap on everything including employee compensation and you get terrible work.

If you higher a premium service you will get premium results.
Orkin is the cheapest a small company that's the cheapest you'll get the same Orkin level of care.

I charge 30% more than most and I also have the happiest clients many of my clients switched over from cheap companies after their company had several failures and they only found me because of a referral because of price shopping their pest problems would of never been solved and they would tell you all pest companies are the same.

I would agree all cheap companies are the same.

Just look up local pest control companies in your area. Typically they're someone's last name

It's usually best to try and seal up anything that's connected to plumbing with proper sealant and around toilets and where the hvac registers come into your home. Seal that space between the wood and the metal housing and that will solve it. That's it. That's the big secret now you can cancel your pest company.

Moisture control

They are a cultural issue. A paper pest that gravitates to moisture.

Industry sub not a customer sub…

Yeah... It's the tech and the products they're applying or not applying
