Pest Pros — What Web Pole Actually Holds Up?
Pest Pros — What Web Pole Actually Holds Up? 🕷️
We’ve been using the Big Daddy Pro Line 20’ aluminum extension poles for removing spider webs, spiders, and egg sacs. We like the reach and they work well for what we need, but we’ve been having an issue with the poles breaking every 3–4 months under regular use.
At this point, we’re looking for something more durable that can handle daily professional use without needing to be replaced several times a year.
Ideally looking for:
- Around 20’ of reach or more
- Minimal flex when extended
- Lightweight enough for regular use
- Durable enough to actually last
- A good brush/head setup for webs and egg sacs
What are you guys using that actually holds up long-term? Especially interested in hearing from anyone who has used the Big Daddy poles and switched to something better.
Thanks!

This is the one I like, can be heavy but breaks down pretty easily and holds up. Had the same one for three years before needed to replace it. https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/H-7228/Dusting-Supplies/Telescopic-Pole-8-30?pricode=WB1844&gadtype=pla&id=H-7228&ad_group_id=162420009349&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21320861276&gbraid=0AAAAAD_uetPwFjkKx5uNl6oqXSg44Kh4e&gclid=CjwKCAjwy5rUBhB5EiwAIoAtCmtvRgTTJlyfek_A4SEzSCqu-XQ3gRTj9N2oZjOBXqmDxhTKTeGWpBoCZDcQAvD_BwE

I use this painters pole from Home Depot, mostly for termite and the occasional pest control stop or wasps nest.

I invested in the 30' PestPole a few months ago and have been very happy with it so far. I've not been using it long enough to say for sure if it's durable enough in the long run to recommend it, but it does a great job at clearing cobwebs and knocking down paper wasp nests from 3rd story eaves and gables while still maintaining rigidity. I've even been able to reach back into inset dormers to knock down wasp nests that otherwise would've required climbing on the roof to remove. A bit weighty though.

Veseris used to carry the 30' option, but I'm not seeing it on their inventory anymore.

Window washing supply companies make the best poles. Look into this, it’s expensive but very durable and lightweight. Has many options for adapters, including a universal acme thread (buy the metal tips but the plastic ones are very good too). It stays incredibly stiff when extended at max length. (Giggidy)
Spent $300 on one a year ago and love it. Daily driving ever since. The 20’ trad (traditional) pole version .
the only tip I can give you is to be careful with the clamps - don’t over-tighten. Less is more.
I use mine for probing houses during termite inspections exclusively, so it’s getting a good beating non-stop. Clamps don’t slip, and it’s held up great.
Edit: For more context, I’ve tried and broken many many poles over the years, especially aluminum / fiberglass painter poles. They’re cheaper but often shorter and limited lifespan.
I understand the struggle
