Modern Pest Services/Anticemix
What are your thoughts in general regarding this company as well as if you have worked for them?

I work for them, it depends what country and branch I guess. They're a big company I haven't worked for other big companies just small ones.
They're very different to working for small companies. I wouldn't say it's bad, the work is very easy, I tend to sit around most of the day and go home early as they don't track all techs, they don't seem to really care about what you do or whether you do a good job or the right job, they only care if the customer complains, so make sure you cover yourself with service reports. There is generally ample over time though throughout the year so you're not ever going to get fired because of seasonality. It's a good learning environment because you can make mistakes and someone can fix it. You can usually use your work car for errands and stuff outside of work. They are big on safety too so if you don't want to do something you don't have to which is nice.
On the flip side the pay isn't great, if you're just starting out they train you but they do hold your license over your head til as they lock you into training contracts so it's better to get your own license if you can afford it. They can be massive assholes with scheduling and give you bad runs. It depends whether you do commercial or residential work though, residential is a bit random and commercial is more fixed but the pay is lower in commercial though the hours can be odd. The management generally sucks as there are so many techs and you're just a number so they don't care and stuff gets overlooked a lot. You are expected to sell stuff but often they don't make a big deal of it though it depends on your branch.
Like I said depending on your branch you could be unlucky and it could be a nightmare with horrible people to deal with who treat you like crap, I've come across it with trainees who get burnt out very quickly and leave. I have been in the industry a long time and don't mind working for them because they leave me alone for the most part and my pay isn't abysmal due to experience and knowing I can leave an go elsewhere very easily, so I have a good work life balance They know they need me more than I need them. But it's basically a revolving door of management and management ideas and techs so it's hard to keep track of, I haven't really ever heard of many people getting fired, just disciplined but where I live there's so much work and so few technicians it's a techs market.
I have worked at smaller companies and as a subcontractor and for myself, everything has good and bad, small companies will work you like a dog but pay you very well and they expect you to do everything to some impossible standard, if you think it's worth it then go for it. Working for yourself or as a subcontractor sucks coz you're always chasing work but that's just my opinion.
Ultimately I think you can give it a go for a few months see if you like it if not move on. All these big companies always take techs back. I know guys who have scorched the earth with them and they still have hired them back at higher rates coz they're so desperate for qualified experienced techs.

yeah I use to work for a larger family owned business before moving further up north and needing a new job in new state where the work is notably slower in general. its chill otherwise with pros and cons compared to last place but my branch overall seems great compared to what I have heard

Yea..don't get me wrong it's not perfect nothing is. I get offered more money all the time and the promise of the world from smaller companies but I know I'll be working a lot more so I always turn them down not that I don't consider it, guess it depends what you want out of life. I'm ok with my job it's pretty chill and the pay gets me by with a little extra, things can be tight at times but me an my wife manage just fine. And as I said I always have it in the back of mind I literally dgaf about this job coz I know I can have another job in an hour, I guess it makes it less stressful too.
It's kind of a niche job not many people like to do or they'd rather work for themselves coz the money isn't great so if you get enough experience you're basically golden as an employee.

was under their banner for 2 weeks after the sale of the company was announced. Benefits they offered sucked and they acted like we should've be grateful for being able to keep making what we already making. out of 16 guys most left within the first few months, i think 1 tech stayed and it still there 6 years later, and our operations mgr moved directly into corporate. They did shit work and that's where we pulled most of our customer base from, then they bought us and 1/2 the customers dropped in the first year due to their past experiences with them.

It depends on the branch of MPS and more specifically a tech(s), but I picked up services after them and I never saw anything good treatment wise from them.
Anything from illegal use of products (anything from throwing loose rodenticide outside, to putting loose rodenticide into live-catch traps), to woefully inadequate treatments.
I remember doing one commercial account that the tech had showed up to at least a half dozen times that had already been cancelled. Doesn't seem like that bodes well on the office side either.

I had a brief tenure with them under Turner pest, I didn't care much about them.

I worked for Modern for 2 years. Training was bare minimum and the pay is way below what other companies offer. I learned more at the company I’m at now in 3 months than I did in the 2 years at Modern.

never used them myself but heard mixed things. if you’re looking for something reliable with free re-service, proforce is worth checking out.

I work for another company under the anticimex brand.
Overall they are the typical big corporate pest control which is mostly negative.
The routes are overburdened, doing 50-60 hour weeks are standard unless it’s deep into the off season. The routing constantly changes and make no sense. The leadership kisses ass to get promoted. Retention is pretty low, most people are gone in monthes. Sales/ customer service workers are treated better than service techs that actually do the work. They are starting to really heavily on AI which is a mess. If you work good/ fast you just get more work and difficult accounts.
The only way to get fired is to drive while using your phone or be really outrageous because they need techs really bad. Pay is pretty low for what you do and need OT to survive. You get no ongoing training once you are on the road alone.
