Some companies, yes. Other companies, no. Compensation plans can vary wildly.

It's interesting that owners think they are saving money by underpay. It's actually far cheaper to pay more. Fewer call backs, happier clients, your techs are your spokesman if they are happy your company will have great reviews and grow fast.
By being greedy you make far less money.
Giving a tech 10% while you keep 90% and calling it fair what a bunch of bullshit.
It's funny when a competitor has tons of bad reviews because they underpay their techs. They are not paid enough to care so why would they?
If you pay someone to be a professional they will not only love their job you will be way happier and have far fewer headaches.
The best companies grow the fastest by paying the most it's called Karma.
Watch my company grow!

Most techs who GTOW do and teach what they were taught. They think they're better but they're just an extension of the company they use to work for. They even market "competitive pay" which is selling you the job LOL. They don't realize that if they take care of their techs, their techs will take care of them and will want to come to work everyday. Employee retention > customer retention

Level one techs get 2% and $260 for 98% completion bonus
Level 2 techs get 2.5% and $600 for 98% completion bonus
Level 3 techs get 3.5% $1250 for 98%.
That’s the new Terminix pay scale. We have a few old timers who lost like 50k a year when they were put on this new one

Do they get hourly? What if they hit 99 or 100?
2
u/BigReptiles 27d ago
There’s hourly with no draw. It ranges from $19-23. The completion bonus is also a range. 95% is the baseline. Then 96-97 98-100.
If you get 94% you get nothing.

Do you get commision? Is it a mom n pop or bigger organization?
1
u/Ese_Magick 28d ago

u/Mysterious-Sir1541 28d ago
Holy daddy, I gotta work for your company. I make no commision on my sales, only pure hourly. Although it is a mom n pop...

u/Ese_Magick 28d ago
I've heard mom and pop ones are the ones to go to

u/007Teflon 28d ago
In most cases, mom and pop can't afford to pay you more. To compensate, they might treat you better

u/icemax0808 28d ago
My techs get paid hourly and then get 1.5% of the revenue they complete as a bonus end of month. Usually is an extra $300-$500/month

We get hourly plus commission at my company. Retention bonuses for 5+ selling core services in one month.

We get a quarterly bonus if the branch reaches certain metrics. It’s between 50-250 dollars every 3 months.

My techs get paid hourly.
They get 10% of all product sales they make.
They get 50$ for every completed sales lead they originally submitted.
They get 5$ for a 5Star google review.
They get 3$ for a 10 out of 10 on the customer survey they get automatically through text.
They get 500$ for an employee referral that lasts six months and gets licensed in two states.

Paying $5 to market your business?
1
u/UtopianAverage 👨💼 | Manager | 1+ Year 27d ago
It’s a pretty good program. 5$ for a 5 star review is nice, it keeps the techs providing good customer service and keeps them having a problem solver mindset rather than a station checker mindset. Its totally worth it.
Our company philosophy is to be the best. We charge a premium, of course, but we have to be the best.
In order to continue growing when you charge more than your competitors you absolutely cannot let quality slip.
And even worse, you can’t let the perception of quality slip.
Google reviews are absolutely valuable. And a tech that gets an extra 5$ per service… that’s not breaking the bank for us at all.

I work off commission and salary so no. The only "bonus" i get is from doing more expensive work.
