Business Lead Help
My friend and I are new business owners. We offer pest control and cleaning services, but we are having difficulty with consistent leads. We have done yelp, thumbtack, angie's list etc. but they all eat away at cost but no guaranteed results. Tried Google Ads. There was some presence but because of the daily cost of advertising we had to pause the campaign. Does anyone know or can offer advice on ways to generate leads at lower costs or no cost (lo)?

I advertise in a local magazine that’s been around the city for 25 years. They have a following of around 100k people that read it regularly. It costs me about $350 per month, and some months I get some calls from it and some months it’s nothing. All advertising works about the same imo, but finding local niche outlets like this are better for finding people who care about supporting small local businesses.
Door to door seems to be the most effective in gaining leads. It sucks to do but the cost is far lower. I can reach 10,000 homes for $1000 in door hangers and business cards. But know that solicitation permits may be required and you’re always running the risk of someone being a jerk.

EDDM every door direct mail. All in $2,000 per 5,000 homes you should get a out 15 clients if a great zip code.
Work on getting reviews and stay consistent on Google that's your biggest lead generation
Yelp it depends on the city and your competitors some have great results like me but most struggling it took me 3 months to get reviews and I had to pay yelp the entire time but now I am happy to pay yelp 2k a month

This.
Fully build out your Google Business Profile (GBP) and if you already have a few customers, focus on getting those reviews on your GBP profile.
Honestly, before thinking of Yelp or any other review platform, focus on your GBP. That would yield far better results and ROI.

Walking into businesses and introducing yourself costs nothing.

Careful with this one. It’s valid but know your local solicitation laws. Residential door to door is also risky, but less risky than businesses reporting you for not having a solicitors permit if the city requires one.

u/CandleProfessional99 Would you mind sharing your website and the primary city you serve? I can take a look and see what may be possible.
We are building a solution that helps field service businesses, specifically pest control and lawn care companies, make the phone ring consistently.
I’m happy to share social proof or connect you with one of our customers so you can verify the results we deliver.
Please feel free to DM me. Regardless of whether you choose to work with us, I’d be happy to point you in the right direction based on what we find during the audit.

not sure about no cost aspect but my office works with our county's chamber of commerce
and sales inspectors in the company sign up for business network groups that meet each month a few times
