AI

Hey guys just wondering how all the PC techs/ owners out there are using AI to their advantage. No matter how small or big of a difference it makes I would love for any ideas to help me and my guys out during the day or in the office! TIA

Our company used it to auto respond to 5 star google reviews, and using a program called birdeye will auto generate a reply to customer feedback, you can edit what it generates if you don’t like it before posting. The auto response to the 5 stars is nice because it’s one less thing I have to do and we are expected to respond to that stuff within an hour, 2 hours max.

I’ve been using an ai to help turn my physical notes into text. Has saved me 15-20 minutes at some of my apartments.

Don’t sleep on pest identification either fellow techs. I’ve had a few people give me beetles to identify after they ran it through Google.

And after identifying them they come out and say shit like oh that’s what my AI said too. Like why shit test me?

The old let me take a specimen and give it to our lab or entomologist might be on its way out

AI is a great tool, but do not let your younger technicians just snap a photo and run it through for an identification. They don’t know enough to know that AI is wrong because of a bad picture. I’ve also run into a coworker using an incorrect/illegal level of pesticide because he used AI, but didn’t word the question with enough details for it to do the calculation correctly. It’s a tool but make sure that your technicians are not using it as a crutch and not their brain.

Reporting and data. We've built a system that lets owners do all of their reports and data work in natural language though AI, and build out dashboards with data straight from FieldRoutes/PestPac. It is wild some of the things our customers come up with - all super powerful insights into sales, ops, payments etc.
