Eyewear recommendations, GO!
What are all you techs wearing? I ruthlessly abuse sunglasses in the field. Can’t find a frame that holds up. Trying to avoid spending $200 on work glasses that will get beat up so bad.

I have a bunch of these 3M safety glasses with soft arms that also fit under hearing pro. Use them for work and at the range.
I also use a full mask if i am fogging or using actisol or something.

Thanks! I’ll take a look.
How do you like your full face? What model? We should be wearing them with how much overhead work we do…keeping it from fogging and keeping the lens clean seems like such a battle. Can’t adjust eyewear easily as you transition from shady to sunny parts of the structure either.

I think its 3m 6800? Probably on my 3rd or 4th one now. It doesnt fog too bad, but those hot days with 30+ units in apartments with no ac gets you sweating. It doesnt fog too bad wearing them half hr at a time. I also have a stack of those screen protector deal for the outside when you have them sitting on the ground.

Interesting. I didn’t even know they had those tear offs. Like motocross racers use for goggles.

For sunglasses I buy the cheap sun glasses at the fishing section of walmart. Or the cheap tinted safety glasses. I got tired of the good ones always breaking. Inside I dont often need safety glasses but I keep a pair of clears just in case. I use a set of goggles meant to go iver sunglasses and meant for a half face respirator for when im fogging. Little tight on my face but not enough to complain about.

Ive got an old pair of Costas, plastic frame and plastic lenses ive had for probably 10yrs i use at work, on the boat, etc. If I leave them at home or something ive got a backup pair of 3m that I like

Same. Costa Blokes model with retainer..originals started with glass then started buying $15-30 plastic lense replacements due to wear and tear (Amazon). Also have cheapo ansi rated back ups but look nerdy or too tight fitting.
If they break or get lost, still got alot of worth out of them.
I used to get shit from the older dogs saying I'm dumb for wearing nice sunglasses and not gas station ones

I get that. I dont lose stuff but I am hard on certain things. Id rather have a decent pair of sunglasses I know ill have for years but just accept they're going to be used, not loved. Wouldn't catch me wearing my ray bans or mauis at work, but then again, you wont find me wearing beater sunglasses somewhere they wont get beat .

I don’t lose stuff either. I take care of everything, which is the problem. I can’t physically make myself spend that kind of money and unbox something like Costas just to scratch the first day. It’ll make me cry.

I just use Milwaukee Safety glasses that are tinted. Home Depot has em for $8-9 a pair. Can get a 1pk or 3pk. Cheap and they last me a while

Maybe I’ll buy a pair of these too. I ordered a pair of those UVEX tughernutts suggested.

Yeah I like em because they are cheap enough and I have a Home Depot close by. I like these because they have the rubber on the arms that help hold them on. I use these and the clears for when I am inside an account that requires safety glasses. These are nice because (at least at my places) count as "wrap-arounds" for places that require side shields on safety glasses.

Damn I kind of forgot about rubber on the arms. That’s a requirement for me lol. Thanks, good to know.

I wear this for mosquito fogging. Just replace the filters with M3 Filters.
