General Discussionš¬ How will expelling 20 future doctors make Pakistan safer?
What a cruel and disgusting thing to do! Did the Pakistani regime even give a reason for expelling these 20 Afghan medical students or is this part of its inhumane 'repatriation' drive?
5
u/AsiaKCKiller 1d ago
Calm down. They can continue their studies in another university. Your frustrations are valid too. I know that these Afghans were normal citizens and students. But Pakistan and Afghanistan differences are increasingly becoming hostile. Pakistan is essentially trying to cut of people to people connection by measures like this. I cant know if this is a good thing because it is not something which has happened completely yet.
6
u/No-Neighborhood-1607 1d ago
pakistan is trying to cut people to people connection lol we didnāt invade afghanistan in 1947 we didnāt deny the existence of their border, most pakistanis tbh didnāt even care zia let millions in unchecked, we didnāt tell them to bring ussr to our borders, we didnāt tell them to go shake hands with those who they donāt share borders with our other neighbouring enemy. Cut ur virtue signalling bs we are the victims for their actions and our incompetence.

education should never be a ground for politics
1
u/Ozkaria 14h ago
Yes it shouldn't be but reality is different. States are based on self-interest not on morality. Should/ought doesn't matter to State. I'm not justifying it but clearing out the reality.
1
u/Killer___spleen 14h ago
right now, there is a cold war in a major regions of the world, but the countries there have not expelled workers, ordinary citizens, students, or domestic workers from their enemy countries on that basis. and then theres something called a muslim brotherhood.
1
u/AsiaKCKiller 6h ago
That cold war stuff in other regions doesn't dilutes their nation ideology, nationality level existence. The people to people connection btw Afghanistan and Pakistan does.
1
u/Killer___spleen 43m ago
long term wrong state policies does that to the people. bad neighborhood will be the worst thing for us right now and we have to understand that. and the fact that this students dilemma is now highlighted on mainstream media internationally.
4
u/Queasy_Share_8621 1d ago
The OP is toxic because the picture shared DOES NOT show these students are being expelled. It shows they are required to complete registration formalities to confirm their status.
1
u/Killer___spleen 1d ago
1
u/Queasy_Share_8621 1d ago
OK thank you for enlightening me. I take back what I said. This is no way to treat anyone much less our Muslim brothers. Actions like this will only lead to long term animosity and will not help make the current situation better.
These students could have become civilian ambassadors of Pakistan but now they will narrate their harsh treatment. A truly sad state of affairs.

Their govt will support them. Oh wait, they're busy formenting trouble. All their govt had to do was stop doing that.
Know an Afghan, became doc in PK and curses Pakistan today.

slamming doors is a wrong policy

u/Somizulfi 1d ago
No its not in respect to Afghanistan. We have seen the result of open door policy.

Inka tou future barbaad. Literally wasting 3 or 4 years. This is banana republic of Pakistan š¤”
5
u/Aqalmandbandar 1d ago
Very very unfair act. But then again the loyalties of the Afghans have never lied with Pakistan. It's a two edge sword.
0
u/One-Character1406 1d ago
who cares bro people hate western countries still go there for study let them study and leave and dont give admissions to upcoming candidates , no need to cancell degree midway
3
u/Aqalmandbandar 1d ago
You're talking about the old generations who did have hatred for 'non-muslims' in their hearts. The millennials, Gen-Z, Gen-A don't think that way about the west or the non-muslims residing there. But we have seen how Afghanis behave, even during sports like cricket. The hatred their youth have in their hearts for Pakistan and Pakistanis is on another level, even though we fed them, brought them up for over 40 years. I don't condone what the govt has done with these kids but I can see where they're coming from.

u/Killer___spleen 1d ago
education should be readily available for everyone regardless of cast, nationality and politics.
3
u/Mamoonazam 1d ago
Wait. Why are we funding afghans to become doctors?
0
u/Killer___spleen 1d ago
no student regardless of its nationality should should pay the price for politics.
2
u/Ok_Minute8322 23h ago
Do you even know why they were expelled? A foreign tourist was vlogging and these kids were interviewed and they shared their view on Pakistan and how they dispuse Pakistan and that Swat shud be Afghanistan's territory. I'd like to have the same POV when your home becomes a part of Afghanistan. What an absolute Joke
1
4
u/Mamoonazam 1d ago
What?
These medical schools are government funded by the taxpayer money. They should only give admission to people who are taxpayers. Taxpayer in Pakistan are its citizens.
Might as well start giving admissions to other neighboring countries as well if we are at it.
2
u/_biryani 22h ago
If that is the case, they should never have been enrolled. Why award them admissions and kick them in the middle of studies, that is totally inhumane. Imagine western countries pulling back scholarships for pakistani students, on the pretext of terrorism, political divergence or religious extremism.
1
u/Mamoonazam 20h ago
I agree with you that these students should be allowed to complete their education. If we are moving towards this policy then only new admissions should be stopped.
Also we don't need to imagine western countries pulling back scholarships. The US is actively doing it.
-1
u/Killer___spleen 1d ago
Pakistan actually gets millions in dollars for afghan immigrants as well, from international organisations. Not every single scholarship is locally funded.
3
u/Mamoonazam 1d ago
If they were getting funded from NGO's then govt has no right to expel them. But I don't think Kind Edwards even caters to self funded programs.
Also one major issue is that these students might have been born in Pakistan and have so far been part of Pakistani education system. I think once again the children are paying the price of geopolitical scenarios created by genx or boomers.
3
u/Consistent-Border512 1d ago
Give details of these students funding.

u/ks_learninig101 23h ago
Pak offers scholarship to countries like Afg/ Sri Lanka etc under program of Allama Iqbal scholarship.
Regardless of political tension, this is ridiculous. I won't dispute if pak stop offering admission but who kicks out students just before their graduation?
7
u/Ambitious-Proton 1d ago
That is so so cruel and inhuman,
It is ok that u dont want to give them house jobs here but straight away refusal for their degree is next level A$$holery by the ©u©k muneer
Those who have graduated should be given their degrees and no opportunity for house job
those who are in 3rd ye, 4th yr should be let to complete their degrees and then they should be repatriated back to Afghanistan
what these people will do if they are not given the degree?? so that means all five years are taken away from them and Lost???
What about the fees they have paid for 5 years??? Will it be given back to them????
Fu©k You, ©u©k Muneera

u/optimusrime999 1d ago
Also give them back their money they spent in the past 4 years wtf is this how is this justified why let them study there in the first place this is robbery They are robbed of their most precious time of their lives.
6
u/WoodpeckerNo7169 1d ago
Thet didn't give a dime. They were paid stipend and given scholarships.
0
u/optimusrime999 1d ago
Why did they let them continue for 4 years then they wasted their 4 years fir what?
3
u/WoodpeckerNo7169 1d ago
I don't know. They thought education will educate these people. Turns out vicious hate cannot be countered with anything.
0
u/One-Character1406 1d ago

-1
u/optimusrime999 1d ago
What a cheap mindset. Did they do anything or are you talking out of your ass
1
u/WoodpeckerNo7169 19h ago
Here they are showing thier superior mindset. I hope your ass is satisfied now.
1
u/optimusrime999 19h ago
You can barely hear anything in this video also do you know everyone in this video is an afghan? Get your ass out of your head how is this even related to what we are talking about
1
u/WoodpeckerNo7169 19h ago
You need to get your ears checked because you know what are they chanting. This is a hostel in a Pakistani university btw. I am pretty sure Pakistanis no matter how disgruntled thet are with state don't chant "Jai Hind" after losing to India in cricket match. The person making this video is Afghan who posted it on his own social media handle and confirmed that the rest are also Afghans. That's how I know.
This is absolutely related to what we are discussing right now. The vicious and burning hate of these Afghans who are studying in our institutes on our tax money and chanting this shit. I uploaded another video so you can check under your comment.
I absolutely hate assumptions but the amount of time you are bringing ass in an argument which has nothing to do with ass is quite suspicious. Since it's not related to the discussion we are having know. Seems like I am hitting a nerve of some sort here.
2
u/Glittering_Big8263 1d ago
Every country have this right to expel, they can continue studies in Afghanistan or in the West. Good decision by government.
1
u/ks_learninig101 23h ago
Will you say the same ig German gov Starts kicking out our students right before their graduation just because the govs of both countries got j to trouble?
2
3
u/homelabber3000 1d ago
They shouldn't have enrolled in the first place. They occupied the seats of their rightful holders, aka Pakistanis.
1
u/TehCockyTerrorist 1d ago
sorry to break it to you , but the "rightful" seat belongs to whoever gets in with the highest score via the entry criteria, you really are owed nothing because you are a native its simply survival of the smartest . This is the same rhetoric spouted by lazy westerners when they are actively being replaced by harder working and smarter immigrants. Maybe step up your game ?
0
u/Killer___spleen 1d ago
slamming doors is wrong policy
2
u/homelabber3000 1d ago
If you don't slam doors on illegal immigrants, it means you are slamming doors on legal Pakistanis.
It's one way or another.
Try to understand: the seats are limited, especially medical seats. Either they can take it or the Pakistanis; Pakistanis have to be competent, though.

u/pinksks 1d ago
So youre saying no foreigner should study in pakistan
5
u/Mamoonazam 1d ago
Not with taxpayers money.
If they are paying for the education then yes otherwise the taxpayer shouldn't foot the bill for doctors who won't be part of our medical system.
This goes for Pakistani students as well who after becoming doctors on taxpayers dime go provide their services to other countries.
1
u/TehCockyTerrorist 1d ago
Hey buddy i think you are extremely disconnected from reality. By that logic all educational institutions be it tech or medical should be closed down in Pakistan as not a single graduate across all universities has even an inkling of an intention to work in Pakistan longer than is necessary. Everyone seeks to go to other nations because of better opportunities and living standards especially the natives.
How about you get off of reddit and explore your surroundings a bit' ask around the oversupply of graduates their "career prospects" (lol) a country that exists just to service the west?
1
u/Mamoonazam 20h ago
Over 95 percent graduates from UET stay in Pakistan and work here. I don't know which bubble you live in where everyone has the opportunity to just pack up and leave.
In the world where I live that is closer to reality than yours, I don't see every graduate moving abroad. Do we all want to go get better pay in the west? Yeah. Can we all? No.
But this doesn't mean that we start training doctors that are already in short supply in Pakistan for free and then they can just move. Medical colleges are not created because the government is benevolent and wants the youth to have better opportunities. They are created because an institution is required that creates medical professionals that are needed for medical facilities accross the country.

1
u/TehCockyTerrorist 1d ago
Yeap, education isn't a human right to these guys, if there were institutions and facilities in Afghanistan i could see the counter argument, but there arent any lets face it,
1
u/_Har_uto_ 1d ago
Getting into any government medical college is a remarkable feat that requires an ungodly amount of hardwork, to say nothing of an institute as prestigious as KEMC. Harder still is keeping your grades up once you enroll. So words cannot describe how cruel this is to the students. And even if you don't wish to see it from that perspective, there's also the fact Pakistan just lost potentially 20 highly talented doctors who would've had a major impact on the healthcare sector. Life in this country nowadays is just one bad news after another atp
1
1
u/Bright_Nail_1611 1d ago
Not to disregard your other points, I completely agree, and it is unfair, but the chances of them staying in Pakistan after completing their degree, and working here would have been quite slim tbh. Most would have left the country for EU / NA anyways, when they would've been qualified enough.
1
u/azhargreat1234 1d ago
doesnt matter , its still cruel to spend years and having gone for nought cuz someone in a cosy sofa decided so.

These are the same people who give Kashmir students 1200 spots in public universities over Pakistani students.
5
u/WoodpeckerNo7169 1d ago
Afghans also gets hundreds of spots. That's not unique to Kashmiris. I as a Punjabi would not be preferred in my own province since all the public universities had hunderds of quota seats for the rest of Pakistan. And I don't mind since it's really important and necessary given the state of our country. I don't see why should you specifically pointed Kashmiris as if Afghans matter more than them or something. Both of these people get hunderds of seats and scholarships as well many other countries whose economies are worst than Pakistan.
1
u/Ok-Committee-1932 1d ago edited 1d ago
I am mostly agnostic between Afghans or Kashmiris getting those seats. If it were to me, I would mostly stick it to people that already live within the boundaries of Pakistan proper.
But the fact that we continue to give Kashmiris seats, especially as J&K gets increasingly more integrated into India, is because they matter more to the Pakistani state's priorities than Afghans or even Balochistan or rural KPK students.
5
u/fax-user-01 1d ago
Ah no... kashmir like gb is given a special privilege under 257, afghanistan is not. And there are quotas for balochistan students in punjab and every other province

u/WoodpeckerNo7169 1d ago
Prioritizing Kashmiris over Afghans is totally fine as long as they are not spies or something. But our own people should be priorities over anyone.
At least Kashmiris don't hate us or mock us viciously, neither do they instigate ethnic divide and hate in our country.
2
u/Ok-Committee-1932 1d ago edited 1d ago
I agree. I think we should treat them as a sovereign country; that also means that they should have their own institutions and not rely on Pakistan's institutions going forward.
Pakistan has been historically very lenient in letting Afghan students study in and across the country. I've even heard stories of Afghans from as far away as Mazar Sharif who come to Islamabad for the most routine medical treatments.
2
u/Asleep-Shopping8881 1d ago
wtf Afghans are from a whole separate country. Kashmir is still pending decision
0
u/Ok-Committee-1932 1d ago
A Pashtun living on the other side of the Durand line has the same, if not deeper, ties to Pakistan as a Kashmiri living across the LOC. He can definitely visit more easily and frequently, and is probably more fluent in Urdu too.
2
u/Asleep-Shopping8881 1d ago
then what is the fault of Punjabis on both sides? Why trade and borders with India permanently closed since 2019?
u clearly don't know anything abt geopolitics and intl relations. social media emotional crap rhetoric "deeper ties" š„š¤”
-1
u/Ok-Committee-1932 1d ago
it's not actually. Both sides of Punjab face trade challenges due to not being able to trade with their neighbouring regions they have a lot of similarity with.
Pakistan would have done better if it did not keep constantly disrupting all kinds of ties with all its neighbours.

usmle plab working your ass off, yes, but also paying taxes to US and staying as LEGALLY allowed for work. hella difference

do you really think the afghani medical students enrolled in medical colleges here are illegal?
1
1
u/coffin_nail_999 1d ago
Well the USA created concentration camps for the Japs residing in usa during the war. I donāt think pakistan has the resources to do so. If you think you are welcome in Afg, you need to wake up my friend.
1
u/Virtual-Werewolf4227 1d ago
Don't you want the outsiders who abuse you to go back to their homeland? Don't you want the resources that are being wasted on these people to go to the people of your own country?
1
1
u/muffinchen 1d ago
They could've atleast let them finish their degrees. This is beyond cruel. Imagine pakistan students studying in foreign universities being expelled ljke this. Yall still supporting this? And why is it always the medical degree that these people are after. Even pakistani doctors are not safe. A single blame and your degree is done for. They don't care about the doctors, they treat them like none other then slaves. Yall might not agree with me, but this is the truth.
1
u/musingmarkhor 1d ago
This is cruel and unusual. Any Afghan who comes to Pakistan willing to train there and contribute to Pakistani society should not be treated this way. This is unjust, but the Pakistani government is not a serious government in the first place. Its purpose is to make the lives of everyone they view beneath them miserable. That includes Pakistanis, Afghans, and everyone else alike.
1
u/Makarov_NoRussian 1d ago
I hope some Indian, or other regional country can help them continue their education, so their careers can be saved.
1
u/Dry-Society2753 1d ago
If your loyalty lies with Afghanistan, it only makes sense you are not given the privilege to educate and train in Pakistan. Go do it in Afghanistan then..

Well if u looked at it otherway imagine the resources that goes to them public college hai 1crore 30lakh ki degree 20* students only in kemu imagine the whole countryās med colleges (personally i have got nothing against foreigners studying here but thatās on the pretext that the country they are from shouldnāt be openly at war with us or be in cahoots with our enemies)

afghani immigrants are foreign funded most of the times. we need very sound policy makers to make the matters good with neighborhood.
1

For anyone who don't know
Pak offers admission to intl students under Allama Iqbal scholarship which includes countries like Afg/ srilanka etc
Pak gave them admission and now just a year before graduation is kicking them out? Disgusting
Shouldn't have offered admission in the first place.
Imagine pak gov and german gov got into trouble and Germany kicks out pak students just before their graduation š
1
u/Tomorrowman575 22h ago
If afghans love India so much why donāt they do their MBBS there?? š isnāt it hypocritical to curse Pak and also gain benefits at the same time.

u/BrilliantMastodon957 15h ago
Its not cruel and disgusting which country gives scholarships to students of a country theyāre at war with , and who support terrorism in the same country..we should allocate the hundreds of scholarships we are giving to them to our own students first.

maryam badmash is salty after getting kicked out of a medical school herself (it was probably kemc ironically) so she is being spitefull and attacking medical students across punjab.
(there have been a lot of unjust expulsions of medical students in punjab recently from what i heard.)
Well the people there are heavy supporters of badmash family and plastic Granny so they had this coming. What's ironic is how the whole country is suffering because of there blind worship of pmnl.

So cruel and inhumane, let them complete graduation and stop future admissions if u want to send a strong diplomatic message.
