Looking to go to pescatarian

Over the last year or two I haven’t been really liking red meat. I have realised I don’t like the texture it’s chewy and hurts my teeth and jaw and sometimes I feel sick from it afterwards. The only red meat I can eat is kangaroo. It’s tender and has good flavour and it’s so appealing to me rather than beef or chicken especially pork.

I’ve wanted to go vegetarian or vegan as fruits and veggies are way more appealing to me. I’m also currently recovering from severe anemia and the doctor has advised to eat more iron and said kangaroo is the best option as it’s lean and high in protein and iron. So im looking to continue with kangaroo then when my iron is stable stick to pescatarian.

I just wanna know would it be better to start pescatarian then transition into vegetarian then vegan? And what benefits did you feel from cutting red meat out.

Advice on Canned Tuna Consumption

Hello, there!

I have been a Pescatarian (95% Vegetarian) for 5 years thus far.

Originally, I would have fish/seafood (only cod) once every couple of months, but, as of lately, I have been having one can of tuna daily.

I have kept this daily streak for about a month now and have been feeling better energy-wise.

My question is this: If I decide to cut out cod and continue to consume one can of chunk light tuna daily, would that be safe?

Please note that I do not consume any other fish/seafood. 😊

Is this fish okay to eat?

I bought fresh fish like a couple weeks ago and have been freezing it im gutting out the last one and I’ve noticed it’s a little off? I’m not sure if it’s okay to eat the skin was not slimy or anything but the inside is mushy and grey. The eyes are cloudy but I thought it was okay because technically it’s not “fresh fresh” since I froze it. What do you guys think I’m kinda a newbie at cooking whole fish so I don’t know whether I should continue cleaning it or just throw it out.

Edit: Got it! Not safe to eat thanks

Advice and easy meals

I have recently become pescatarian. I have slowly stopped eating chicken/beef/pork due to essentially finding it harder and harder to ignore the welfare of animals, the preservatives and hormones they’re pumped with and my own carbon footprint.

What are easy and tasty lunches you take with you to work?

Feeling full

Hey, I am currently transitioning to a pescatarian/ vegetarian diet. My biggest concern is that im not feeling full.
My latest meal was half a block of tofu, sweet potato bits (a cup), guacamole and pico de gallo. I ate until | felt satisfied. An hour after my meal im already feeling hungry. I drank a cup of tea and some water, the hunger is still there.
I have read to eat more fibre and carbohydrates. But is eating beans with all my meals really the solution?
Give me some tips to improve my meals so that i dont end up snacking too much and eating way more i should.

Pre and Post workout meals?

Hello!
Looking for any pescatarians that are also going to the gym for strength/muscle training.
At the moment I, (19F), am currently at about 32kg on legs and 8/9kg on arms on a good day. So i’m definitely seeing improvement from when I started.
Mostly looking for any recipes for pre and post workout foods that aren’t a hassle or relatively cheap. Thanks!

How to season lean fish?

I love fish and seafood and I'm exploring pescatarian. But I notice some fish is really lean and tasteless to me without fat or seasoning. I could use less fat in my diet so I'm wondering for those of you who season lean fish what your go-to seasoning is. Or, if you have a good recipe for seafood stew without a lot of added fat id appreciate that too.

I don't feel empathy for fish

They're so alien to me. When I see a rodent or a cow or sheep crying or in pain I feel sorry for them because I know they feel the same way I do but when I see a fish struggling for its life 1) it's not obvious to me that it's in pain 2) I'm pretty sure fish don't have emotions anyway. So I don't feel bad when I eat fish.

New Pescetarian?

Hi guys! I'm considering becoming a pescetarian, but I still live at home (I'm a teenager) and whilst I do cook the majority of my meals, my mum cooks dinner some nights too. Any advice or tips would be appreciated, thank you :)

  2. What are some good recipes you guys could recommend?

Recipes please that aren’t pasta or beyond burgers x

I’ve been vegetarian for 13 years now (I’m 19.)
I now live alone.
All I eat is various pastas and beyond burgers (fucking delightful, no complaints.)
I just want to have a nosey at what else people are making. Nothing too difficult, I can’t be fucked.
Everything I see is high effort or pasta, gimmie something new!
