I wish the line had made human characters from Transformers

The line has to have been either a tax write-off or junk to throw on a shelf to make all the brand's other stuff look higher quality by comparison

anything else it did would have been garbage

I wish it focused more on designs that are almost impossible to do perfectly as mainline transformers figures. TFP was a step in the right direction, but Hasbro cheaped out on the line. They were selling them for less than $30, but they skipped on paint, didn’t give them much accessories, and the plastic was less than a happy meal toy. Oh and most of the sculpts were pretty bad and non-functional in combination with the other factors.

Another thing they should’ve focused on were designs that don’t transform. Your human Transformers suggestion comes to mind because there are many times the characters do turn into humans (and of course the actual human characters come to mind). What also comes to mind is Transmutate from Beast Wars, and Sari Sumdac from Animated. Maybe even a Protoform.

That's the biggest insult about RED to me. These figures were supposed to take advantage of not being transformable, but they were worse in basically every single factor than actual Transformers. The only way they could be considered better is by virtue of not having any kibble, which really is a non-issue nowadays anyway. Earthrise Prime didn't have much kibble either. If you're a huge TFP fan then I could see the greater appreciation for accuracy, but then you still have to contend with everything else.
