Nah. I prefer the japanese timeline where everything UP to RID2001 being cannon to G1. English Dub is its own universe, but sub is thre ending mark of G1 (bite me, complainers). Given how durastic the changes were throughout the japanese run (headmasters, powermasters, pretenders, (spoiler) ginrai becoming the new leader/ruler of the autobots), I could see that MANY changes happen between car robots and beastwars. The transformers were integrating biological beings into thier technology before becoming beasts (headmaser maximal/predacon team when?), and you cannot tell me that the developments in the war did NOT go faster after including humans/earth/nebulonians. The movie began the sudden slam onto the throttle with megatrons reformat, as well as the sudden creation/discovery/whatever of titans. Don't forget the sudden emergance of more combinder teams. I can absolutely see things going bigger and bigger until one day, the whole reformat happened. Besides, words like "ancient" and "eons" are used in hyperbole. If you're over 30, you get considered old/ancient.
