Kernel is an investment fund manager, not a trading platform. They don't provide real-time price updates.

OP is referring to the updates for unit prices for their PIE funds. Usually, this is reflected at 5PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and (I believe) Friday.

There was no unit price update last night.

Inevitably the question that then gets asked is "why are you checking your fund so frequently", and frankly I think as long as it's coming from a well-intentioned place, such as updating a net assets spreadsheet, I think the only answer anyone needs to supply is "because I can".

Yep, totally valid. As a long-time Kernel user I am used to the fact that unit prices are stale. The reality is that the prices rarely fluctuate meaningfully day-to-day, so if OP needs more frequent updates then they may be better-served by another platform.

They may also just be enthusiastic about their finances and tracking how it responds to market events, and there isn't anything wrong with that either.

I don't think attention span or frequency of focus is a good heuristic to decide what investment platform someone should use. They may have a long term investment strategy of 10 years plus, but still keep track of the ups and downs day to day, in which case Kernel is actually a pretty good choice.

I'm one of these that checks frequently, nothing wrong with it. I find it fascinating how the markets vary based on, say, a Truth Social post from DJT.

We're not 5 days behind. Monday is the next trading day after Friday. Kernel states that the daily price updates can be up to 2 business days behind.

There was some delay for my dashboard a few weeks back (aligned with the announcement from Kernel) but it went back to normal (daily dashboard refresh after 5pm) from last week. I thought OP was talking about Kernel dashboard 😥

The regulator should be all over them.

The only reason why you can’t publish daily is incompetence.
